Just think how sh1t it would have been if rocky got outclassed and stopped in the 3rd there certainly wouldn't have been multiple sequals

You can't just wish something happens and rely on 'wanting it more'. You achieve sporting greatness by utilising your genetics to their maximum potential by spending months and years living a selfish, monotonous, structured existence. Your training, diet and lifestyle must be tailored to bring the best out of your physiological systems. Your psychological drive and resillience are a crucial factor too but they aren't worth a wank without the other component parts.

I mean maybe you're doing your job but why you gotta stop me from doing mine? I mean maybe some of you guys got something you never finished, something you really want to do, something you never said to someone, something... and you're told no, even after you paid your dues? Who's got the right to tell you that, who? Nobody! It's your right to listen to your gut, it ain't nobody's right to say no after you earned the right to be where you want to be and do what you want to do!... You know, the older I get the more things I gotta leave behind, that's life. The only thing I'm asking you guys to leave on the table... is what's right.

His record is 10 times better than mine but he aint been fighting the guys I've been fighting. I'll get in there and do my best like I always have, my best is getting better so lets see if its good enough on November the 28thBaboon wrote:What do you make of Kellett? Steve Robinson was the closest thing to Rocky in terms of Macho's criticisms - he won a title without spending years exclusively honing his athletic ability, despite having a day job, and on late notice, simply by being fit, wanting it more on the fight, and taking his favoured opponent by surprise.
And, like Rocky, he improved after becoming champ, as a result of the natural resultant boost in confidence, the money and opportunity to train full time, and some savvy matchmaking.
I don't object to Rocky 1-3 at all. It's Rocky 4 I don't like, especially if we're talking about films giving "the wrong message".

The show is in Preston mate, my pal Paul Morris is on it fighting John Anthony for the vacant British Masters Title and Rik Turba who I spar regular is on fighting Nick Okoth all being well. There will be a few others boxing to, its going to be a good show.MachoMan09 wrote:Make sure you sort him out enough tickets on the door or you might find come fight time he's screaming back up the M6 with a minibus full of disenfranchised mates who were all expecting a free night of top-class sporting entertainment (only joking Lee).demolitiondaley wrote:Thanks fellas, all being well I've got Lee Kellet in Preston on the 28th November. Its Oliver Harrision's show mate. Yeah thats sounds like the Ray you know, was a good amatuer. He has very fast hands for a heavy and can bang a bit. He did well for his debut and did very well last time out when he stopped a lad away from home with 2 days notice. Got a lot of natural ability.

Well done for losing the weight Howard and hopefully you will do better at that weight. Because with all respect, your record is dreadful.
I know it's a lot to do with matching, and you have fought some half-decent guys, but how can anyone lose to Kahut..... let alone twice.
Hopefully the weight change will make a differnce

Thaks for the praise about my weight loss Reggae, with regards to my record thats exactly what it is a record. A record of the past, who I fought, who I beat, who I drew with and who I lost to. I did fight some half decent guys your right, a commonwealth gold medalist, a world amatuer champion, king kong, godzilla and a few other undefeated prospects. The weight loss will definately make a difference, imagine wearing a 3 stone vest and boxing in it. The past is history and I'm giving myself a clean slate at Cruiserweight and hopefully break a record of the biggest turn around ever. I lost to Kahut on his shows by 1 and 2 points whilst being 3 stone heavier than I should have been so hopefully I can put that right with another rematch this time on one of my shows. He takes a lot of stick on here does Kahut but he has my respect because he steps through those ropes and tries to win even though he is seems to be terrified. If I was a terrified as the way he seems to be I wouldn't put myself through it.reggaereggae wrote:Well done for losing the weight Howard and hopefully you will do better at that weight.
