I see he's listed as a heavyweight, but I'd suggest cruiser is more appropriate.
I know he fought at heavyweight in the latter part of his career, but his prime was at cruiser and he had a long IBF reign at the weight. Surely this makes cruiser more appropriate for his he is categorised/remembered?
There are, of course, many multi-weight boxers, but once their careers are complete they are usually listed by the weight class in which they had their best years/most definitive career stage.

He was still rated at the division he last fought in. Since he hasn't fought for more than 12 months, and therefore technically inactive, he's now back to cruiserweight.

Similarly, Junior Witter is listed as welterweight. I don't know if he EVER fought there, and certainly not even in his last bout.
Re: Alfred Cole
No, but the average is used when a career is ended for example. Witter fought most of his bouts at welterweight.

Oliver is correct. He's now rated at light welterweight.claudevsq wrote:No, but the average is used when a career is ended for example. Witter fought most of his bouts at welterweight.
