This is the new amended rule but it contradicts another rule in the rulebook?
The USAB Rules are hereby amended as follows:
1. Part III, Article IX, Section 309 (subparts 309.1 through 309.13, inclusive of all subsections and clauses thereto), is hereby amended and restated in its entirety as follows:
The Heading of Part III, Article IX shall be "AMATEUR STATUS".
309.1. Amateur Status
The amateur status of a boxer shall be determined pursuant to the terms of this Section 309, and this Section 309 shall apply only to such determination.
All athletes who have competed previously in other combat sports (including but not limited to judo, karate, taekwondo, and wrestling) must register as ‘OPEN CLASS’ athletes in USA Boxing unless that competition was competed before the athlete reached 15 years of age.
This is the rule it conflicts with
110.1.5 says - Boxers must have a minimum of five bouts prior to entering LBC tournaments that lead to regional or national championships. Bouts won on a walkover are not to be included in establishing the abover requirement.
Now can I enter a boxer with zero fights in a tourney if he was a wrestler. Or is he not allowed to enter a tourney for fighters with 0 to 10 fights like the world ringside cause he would be considered open(according to the amended rule)?
