Though I suppose if Khan was Scottish it would have been the best performance you'd ever seen.
I hadn't noticed any bias whatsoever toward Scottish fighters in Neils posts....

Perhaps I'm jumping the gun then, and apologise. Its just i read Neil's comment and one from a chap from cardiff and both were essentially negative. I post more regularly on a rugby forum, and get a bit sick of every Celt running down a decent English performance whenever the opportunity arises.

e.g. if Scotland beat Tonga or Malawi or something its a "great result" and if England beat New Zealand its because they cheated/were lucky/ref was biased [delete as appropriate]

I just wonder if the chips on their shoulders will ever end.

Khan just beat Mario Kindelin for christ sake! Why does the first comment in a post-fight thread have to be negative?

I was being sarcastic, you were quite correct, if Khan were Scottish Neil would not have been able to start a thread because he would have ejaculated over his keyboard and thus stuck the keys together.

On reflection I still think Kindelan's effort was weak. Khan is obviously stronger than he was and more physically mature but I really dont think he's improved that much. He was still pretty wild.

It will be interesting to see who his trainer will be in the pro ranks, will he stick with Mick Jelly? I think he needs careful guidance, he has great talent and potential but there is a lot to work on to make him a world champion.

Khan amatuer career has finished on about 25 fights, if that. Even Hatton had about 90. Hope he gets a good trainer now. Prefer him to go train in the US but that probably aint gonna happen.

He's only recently started fighting in the seniors. Other than that only Jr fights.

Also the Olympic final was only won by a few points. Who in their right mind thinks that it would be necessary to bribe Kindelan for Amir to get a win? Amirs had time to watch his tapes and train for him, its not THAT huge an upset. Answer this question. How many guys at 18 years old have you seen as good as Khan? He's a real prospect. Naz didn't look this good at 18.

I believe the reason Kindelan didn't go professional is because Cuba is a communist country so he would have had to migrate to another, which obviously he didn't want to.

Mario is moving to the UK, that's news to me, were did you get that from? Not saying your wrong just interested.

Also how would losing a fight get him a UK passport?

The only way he could get a legal UK passport would be either

(1) Claim political asylum. If and that is a big if his claim was excepted by the Home Office he would be granted temporary or maybe indefinate leave to remain. This could take quite a few years as it varies from case to case. If indefinate leave to remain was granted he would have to remain in the UK for around 5 years before he could even think of getting British Nationality and then apply for a UK passport.

(2) His sister lives in the UK so he may try to get a family reunion visa but unless his parents or children are already UK residents his chances are very slim as these types of visa'a are getting harder to obtain. Also visa should be obtained from Cuba or the UK Cuba embassy which may prove difficult. Also these visa's do not always garentee Indefinate leave to remain, so a UK Passport is still no garentee and at best could take years to obtain.

(3) Get excepted to study at a UK University then apply for a student visa from Cuba. Then once he has graduated (unless he has married a UK women in the meantime) claim asylum in the UK and go back to step (1).

(4) During his few weeks stay in the UK get married to a UK lady and apply for asylum or a marraige visa. Can't see the Home Office buying that one though.

Either way after years of waiting, interviews, filling in forms etc it could at best take 5 to 10 years to get a UK passport.

There was talk of him getting a coaching job with our amateurs, thats where the talk of him coming to the uk came from.

I'm sure I read somewhere he didnt leave Cuba because he would have had to have left his family behind which he didnt want to do.

Just because Khan have won why you end up making excuses like money to lose, passport etc..

That is excuse and jealousy.

Kindelan was dead nervous and couldnt find a way to beat Amir.. Amir Khan now know his style and protect from punch..

Welldone Amir.. :TU:

Who is then the best P4P amateur Freiheit, don't say say the Olympic gold medalist at Super Heavy. He was okay, but didn't look the special talent he is hyped to be.

I know he is a few years older, but Tony Doherty is the a fantastic prospect also for his age. I first saw him in 2002 (where he must have been a teenager) and I really do believe he can go far.

What a fool.

Kindelan may not be the best NOW, but he was along with Rigondeaux.

"Well done khan"

"He fought well"

"etc etc"

strange you havent picked up any of the posts from you fellow english posters critising khan or even suggesting the fight was fixed.

Cant quite see how the guys nationality fits ino things. Just like a neurotic paranoid englishman to cherry pick bits that suit his rant over race and nationality.

anyways loftgroov. enjoy life :TU:

IMO Rigondeux is the best p4p amateur, and with a bit of luck he wil be the first 4 time olympic gold medal winner, I also have a soft spot for Golovkin and Gamboa.
