I would like to see Paul back. He's done a lot in his career to date and has real wisdom to share. This is a man who, like Bernard Hopkins, nearly beat Jean Pascal.

use r pathetic yano, havent use got nothin better to talk about, or got a life, a bird, ect. hes just lost his british title, the kind ov champion an nice lad he is, hes gutted, but, its christmass, he has a life, a family, hes havin a holiday, do use want him sittin on this listning to use, who havent got a clue, probly never put a glove on. give him a break, if he doesnt come back from this, then use can have a go at him, but wen he DOES come back, then we use will no the paul smith we all no.

But seriously most of the messages on here are of support, people just want to hear his opinions of the fight and his plans. Most are just interested but you can't get away from people wanting to kick someone when they are down, especially online where there are no consequences. He gets a decent enough time on boxrec though.

Paul probably has more pressing things on his mind like his kid's christmas - I am sure when he gets his mind back on boxing he will be back in here. No shame in his showing against DeGale - he showed a good chin, heart and toughness.

Chill out, Beefy. The vast majority on here are hugely supportive of Smigga. There are always a couple of people who have contrary, and occasionally daft, points of view but that's the internet - deal with it or don't log on.

I always wondered how Scousers would spell "yous" :)

Was a bad loss for him, he'll dust himself off and be back. Seems an articulate and decent bloke, should enjoy his Xmas and then look to the future and climbing back up the ladder

I think what was frustrating for fans and Paul himself was firstly the stoppage. He's a tough and proud guy who would have wanted to see out the fight. Secondly I suppose would be the manner of the loss. In hindsight looking for the killer shot as opposed to sticking behind his boxing skills which he undoubtedly has was the wrong choice.
Paul will bounce back I am sure. He gave degale his toughest fight to date. I just think degales style was wrong for paul, his massive reach played a huge part in the victory. Looking forward to seeing Paul back posting on here and back in the ring

i think a forum is the last place he'll want to be :!:

he'll be back. this fight could have broke him & he might very understandably lose interest or come roaring back.... he prob dunno himself yet.

alan minter was undisputed middleweight champion & he'd of been classed on here domestic class before he won it as his record wouls suggest.

he'll be back as a fighter. He needs to utilise his strengths, develop a more sustained body attack and and to stop deluding himself that he is a puncher. He can then be like a Danny Williams of sorts, fight for a world title but mainly hang around the domestic scene. I think he beats everyone except Degale and Groves, Anderson might be a bit tough as well but he shoudl be able to overwhelm the rest

Smith seemed to enjoy posting on here. Every (most) boxer (s) believes that they will win. Paul Smith didn't cack himself and did his best but got beat. Vast majority get beat; least he lost to a very good fighter. I imagine he's a bit sick of hearing about it all and I'd fancy a break after training for ages then fighting and losing. He weren't a shrinking violet on here and can stand up to any barbs and critism. He's done nothing to hide away from; he entertained us! Did what he could and lost; not a massive deal.

He doesnt "owe" any posts to anyone on here and i dont like how some people (not you) seem to want to have a go at him online in the safety of the net.
If we want blokes to come on here and post after a fight let them do it dont goad them

At least the guy got in there and actually tried to win the fight. He wasn't good enough and got outclassed. He needs to look at the tapes with a decent trainer and try and figure out where he went wrong. Always aim to improve.

I like Smith. Seems a decent lad and is a quality fighter. No shame losing to DeGale. He won't be the last person who does so either by the looks of things. As has been stated he didn't cock or look for a way out but just wasn't good enough on the night. So what? Please remember gentlemen:

I hope Smigga gets back on here and doesn't go to the way-side like numerous other boxers have done after a defeat. I'd imagine the heartbreak of losing his title is still too fresh for him to come on here and get quizzed by us nobheads.

I was surprised by some of his post fight comments, but that can also be put down to the above IMO
