Hi, in the Anthony Mundine vs. Sven Ottke "wiki" section is says that "Ottke was down in the 8th, and Mundine was ahead on all three scorecards before being stopped by a single punch in the 10th".

Now while I would like that to be true, the real truth however is that Ottke DID go down in the 8th but the ref ruled it was a slip (remember this was in Germany, although it was an American ref :TU: ) and I don't think Mundine was ahead on all the scorecards at the time of the stoppage. Mundine had been dedecuted 2 points for a supposed "intentional headbutt" in round 4, and was therefore even on one scorecard, ahead on one, and behind on one (although don't quote me on that). But I assure you, (without proof so my assuring will fail :D ) that Mundine was not ahead of the scorecards at the time of the stoppage (and I'm a Mundine fan).

I think something in the "wiki" more along the lines of:

Mundine knocked out by a single punch in the 10th round in what was nonetheless a very competitive fight. Ottke was knocked down in the 8th, but was ("controversially") ruled a slip. Mundine also ("controversially") had 2 points deducted for a ("supposed") intentional headbutt in the 4th.

Now I know that you wouldn't include the words I put in brackets, however, we all know what happens in Germany. Mundine clearly knocked Ottke down, IMO, and although Mundine used his head, Ottke was using his forearm and pushing Mundines head through the SECOND ropes. A warning to BOTH fighters for being a dirty in a boxing match (a little dirtiness is not too bad) would have sufficed. Not a 2 point deduction, to IMO, the more innocent fighter who was retaliating. So imo, "controversially" sums it up nicely.

Just thought I'd bump this up...

Bump!

Whether or not it get re-worded or deleted, "Ottke down in the 8th, Mundine ahead on the scorecards when knocked out by one punch in the 10th" is wrong, plain wrong and misleading. Ottke's knockdown was somehow ruled a slip by the referee, and Mundine was not in fact ahead on the scorecards when stopped in the 10th.

It might also be worth noting that Mundine had 2 points deducted for an intentional headbutt in round 4 without any previous warning.
