Now while I would like that to be true, the real truth however is that Ottke DID go down in the 8th but the ref ruled it was a slip (remember this was in Germany, although it was an American ref
I think something in the "wiki" more along the lines of:
Mundine knocked out by a single punch in the 10th round in what was nonetheless a very competitive fight. Ottke was knocked down in the 8th, but was ("controversially") ruled a slip. Mundine also ("controversially") had 2 points deducted for a ("supposed") intentional headbutt in the 4th.
Now I know that you wouldn't include the words I put in brackets, however, we all know what happens in Germany. Mundine clearly knocked Ottke down, IMO, and although Mundine used his head, Ottke was using his forearm and pushing Mundines head through the SECOND ropes. A warning to BOTH fighters for being a dirty in a boxing match (a little dirtiness is not too bad) would have sufficed. Not a 2 point deduction, to IMO, the more innocent fighter who was retaliating. So imo, "controversially" sums it up nicely.
