Smith is in Florida with his family. I saw his twitter.

I'm sure he will have a chuckle at all the concerned debate awaiting his return.

Exactly! He is in Florida with his family, when he is back people will hear from him again! People read into the interview in question way too much, it was done in the changing rooms straight afterwards, he hadnt even had his eye stitched and was still in his shorts! Im sure after a holiday and watching the fight he will give his review.

Stones and glass houses?!?!?!
And as for this quote....Fowler is constantly on the internet slagging people...he was on slagging Callum when he was in the Commonwealth Games for no reason, just jealous of Callum being there not him! When Callum lost in the Commonwealth Final he was on giving stick out before Callum had even reached the changing rooms and was writing about the standard there not being good enough to get out the area in the ABA's.....yet the Silver medallist comes home and hands his arse to him...I think it sums the lad up! The stick he received afterwards was called for, believe me! :KO:

Other than that i wouldnt waste my time on him, back to Paul, he will be back....he is havin a great holiday with the kids and forums are probably the last thing on his mind. All the best everyone and hope u all had a nice Christmas. Good Luck for 2011 :TU:

Well said, I think in time this defeat might be put into perspective, coz I think DeGale can go on to big things. I`m sure Paul will come back strong from this. Should be a big year for your family, Liam to get some more wins and go through 2011 undefeated, Callum to carry on in the am`s and cement his place in the 2012 Olympics, and I bet you`d love a rematch in Liverpool with Simpson to try and add the Londsdale belt to the CW. Good luck for 2011. :TU:

Smith's one of the nicest guys you could meet. The likely scenario is that he's spending time with his friends and family pre-Christmas instead of lurking on a forum!

Knowledge is a very broad term. However, there is no substitute for first hand experience.
Disagree. I've never had a pro boxing bout, but I know more about the sport than Charlie Zelenoff, 0-1.

i dont agree with you, i think jimmy mac is an excellent motivator and fitness guru...but i dont see any evidence of him being a good 'boxing' trainer. chunkys skills were already in place. in my opinion.

X2

You dont win a Gold medal without already having the Skills that Degale has got...
Audley did.

Not sold on DeGale either. No disrespect to Paul Smith, who is a hard working fighter, but his skillset is limited to british and maybe European level, especially with his tendency to cut.

DeGale receives a lot of hype, which is hilarious, cause he reminds of a southpaw Carl Froch, who was seen as a mediocre fighter for such a long time. I guess that is what a gold medal can do for you. Suddenly your backhand slap of a jab, your low hands, your forearm and wrist punches are a skill.

I fight it hard to believe anyone would argue over that particular £1 'programme' - it didnt have any pages inside - It was literally an out-of-date version of the nine match-ups - no write-ups or text/nothing.

Still nothing from Smith... it's kind of embarrassing how he was talking so big and then ran from the forums after being outclassed.

I hope he comes back on; he didn't show himself up in the bout at all. He got beat, he were confident before but he'd never have had any success without a positive frame of mind. DeGale looks like he'll go far and he'll probably beat top fighters more easily than he beat Paul Smith. I cannot understand why people love to put the boot in as they do. It was a good match up and Smith lost; I was entertained and the bout was an eye opener for how good DeGale is - not how bad Paul Smith is.
