Agree - nothing us Brits love to do more than kick a man when he's down. End of the day he lost to a brilliant fighter, awkward as hell. He'll be back but to be honest, I'm sure coming on to Boxrec to 'show his face' probably isn't the top of his list at the moment!

And having posters like him come on here giving us insight is one of the reasons why this board is so good - we should be encouraging him to post again not deriding him for not.

Aye, thing is I have a story from a time when I was in Spain a few years ago and had the fortune to not only run into but also have a few beers with Carl Fogarty(different sport I know but same principle) and he was going on about internet forums and how they're full of faceless ne'er-do-wells who use their anonymous status to basically talk shit about competitors and how the seem to "know everything about fuck all" oh he had a right go at them he did and said the best thing any competitor in any sport can do is to just ignore them, so what if some nobody with a screen name is talking shit about you, you're the one who's achieved success and made money out of it.

Paul will be back soon I reckon, I assume like most professional sportsmen he has something better to do with his time at the moment.

It's mainly ONE person having a go at Smigga. The rest of us have been supportive. One person should not tarnish the view of the rest of us.

I don't think it should be deleted. I'm all for free speech, people should be allowed their opinions. If noone is allowed to criticise you may as well close all forums down. Of course you will get people who take it too far or say things for a reaction, doesn't mean you have to silence everyone. Most of the messages for Paul have been of support anyway.

Aye, but one of his fiercest critics on here has openly admitted to other posters that he acts all aggressive and posts in that style purely to get a reaction from other posters.
You know how to beat him? Don't give him a reaction. If they got ignored they wouldn't bother. Obvious trolling you can delete, but lets not head into censorship of anything negative.

I don't think anything negative should be deleted, but personal abuse and blatant trolling bring the board down.

You're right, I'm just not sure anything here crosses the line. Of course it would be a shame to lose a boxer posting here, but I think he will have thicker skin than that.

I do not think for one minute this thread should be deleted - just because Smigga posts on here does not mean people cannot give their to the point opinions.

With that said I think Smigga has acted honourably throughout all of the banter in the last year or so - its a shame his supporters cannot do likewise when people dare to criticise. When I dared to call Smigga domestic class I was shouted off this forum for stating such a thing - so many people started to put in words like World/European class - unfortunately Smigga has still to prove that and the Degale fight does not help his cause. But where on earth is the shame in calling Smigga domestic class - he is an immensly courageous and guttsy fighter who should be so proud of what he has achieved.

I will also use this thread to have a pop at people reading this post - I remember when I stated the case why Degale/Smigga should and would be made - it seems Mr W arren saw sense in what I stated and what a fight it was.

I hope Smigga comes back to post on here - he is fantastic for the place and he unlike some knows how to take the banter and some of our exchanges through PMs was bloody excellent - what a top man!!!
