I think you're underrated Coetzee (assuming that list is in order).

Coetzee deserved the decision over Snipes (even if it wasn't a 10 point must system, Coetzee probably won 6-3-1 or 7-3).

Coetzee deserved the decision over Thomas (a draw was reasonable).

Coetzee gave prime Tate a tough fight.

Coetzee gave prime Weaver a tough fight before the TKO.

Coetzee KO'd a prime Dokes.

I'll make my list later. :TU:
Agreed, I'd also have Tubbs in the bottom 3 of that list. Mercer should be on it, Rahman was better than Tua. All in all it's pretty solid imo.

For me

Holmes
Holyfield
Lewis
Tyson
Bowe
Witherspoon
Moorer
Wlad
Vitali
Spinks

Not much in it.

Bowe is more fluid and has more to his game. Vitali is much more reliable. Both men were giants but Vitali fought more intelligently.

I just picked Vitali's consistency.

Mike Spinks woul have been detonated by Frank Bruno, Mike Weaver, Bonecrusher, Tommy Morrison...

I'm surprised at how many lists he's making.

Holmes-Holy is very close. Lewis is really not far behind. I'm surprised at how few of us disagree on the top rankings.

Got to disagree with you on Spinks. If he beat Larry Holmes twice, then he would school the four on your list.

Agree with you on Klitschko and Bowe. Apart from Holyfield, who did Bowe beat, A has been (Dokes) and a never was (Ferguson).

He scraped by an aged Holmes (many thought he lost the rematch) and then avoided any real contenders until he could tap out against Tyson with a huge pay day.

I am a huge Mike fan. I totally wanted him to win his fights but he could not hold a HW shot and he knew it. Holmes had him going but was too old to follow it up.

I agree with everything yuou said. Holmes is my idol and I was gutted by the results against Spinks. But if Witherspoon beats Bruno, Spinks does too.

Vitali will always try to fight to his strengths. Bowe will look to turn his advantages into disadvantages.

The consistency of weak opposition?

I don't get Vitali being more reliable at all. How can you say he is much more reliable? Bowe would never quit in a fight, that much I can guarantee. In all honesty, I can't agree with any of this. He was consistently in better shape, that's the only edge I can see. Have to give Bowe talent, resume, toughness & versatility.

Jesse Ferguson and Michael Dokes were REAL opponents? Bowe's title reign was a joke.

You confuse so easily, do you seriously think that response has a thing to do with what you quoted? You can't be that slow.

The proper retort would be that at least Vitali had the stones to fight Lewis. But to pretend he is some great defender because he beat a slew of punching bags is just plain silly.

Bowe beat Holyfield twice, Vitali has nothing near that. End of story.

Vitali didn't have the opportunity to fight Holyfield. He did, as you mentioned have the nuts to fight Lewis.

Vitali hasn't ducked anyone. Bowe proved he was a gutless coward when he refused to fight Lewis. All the while claiming that he was the man. Pathetic.

Vitali retired instead of fighting Rahman and still hasn't fought him. You can play the hyperbole game with any fighter.

Calling Bowe gutless is quite pathetic, he was one of the ballsier fighters of his time. But I don't expect any objectivity from you, that's why I rarely read a word you write.

Just answer me this Saad with a yes or no answer. Did Bowe avoid Lewis?
