hes been clogging up the division for too long with distinctly average skills
we've had to endure about 50 rounds with Fury and Williams![]()
Price Ko 1
some part of that u disagree with ?
Re: David Price
Williams showed the other week that he is still a dangerous fighter (when in the mood); the 1st Fury bout John deserved the verdict + we don't know how much further Fury will go; the rounds John boxed with him may look excellent in another year or 2. John also destroyed Larry last time out; obviously Price is a different proposition but there is no way at all that McDermott should be overlooked (and disrespected) in such a way. He comes to fight; fit to last the distance and is a skilled and crafty boxer AND he has his feet on the ground. More power to him, though John v David Price would likely be a tough bout for him.
Re: David Price
I ain't really too sure about pricey yet. On the surface I think he looks great and is destined for world glory but I have that gut feeling that he will be a massive under achiever who will end up as a gate keeper at some stage. I hope I'm wrong

almost every part of this is debatable.
Williams has not showned anything by ko'ing Lazlo Toth !
and Larry O was way overhyped. How anyone can gloss over a points loss to Daniel Peret is beyond belief.
as for mcdermot? A shot Williams fought 24 rounds with Mcdermot and then got floored by the first punch that Carl Baker threw !
if Price comes forward and throw bombs he will Ko Mcd in the first

I'm not sure it takes a great deal to show you're "still a dangerous fighter" against a losing challenger for the Hungarian title...simon fox wrote:Williams showed the other week that he is still a dangerous fighter.
Re: David Price
It is patently obvious that Danny Williams is not the boxer he once was. A poster was attempting to disparage John McDermott by reference men he'd lost to.
I think that McDermott deserves more respect, (as does Williams). The Larry O bout was a forgone conclusion in many BoxRec posters eyes and look what happened there.

Re: David Price
I agree about both guys being underrated but the Williams of today is not dangerous anywhere outside of Hungary and Latvia. I'm not sure how dangerous he was at the time of his McDermott fights, either, but I think those two encounters were a case of both men fighting their nerves more than each other.simon fox wrote:It is patently obvious that Danny Williams is not the boxer he once was. Re: David Price
I can cede your point Oliver; I do however bristle when posters disparage very capable boxers. It is obvious the David Price is a talented and dedicated boxer with great physical attributes. To write John off though as not to go past 1 round is silly.

Re: David Price
Yes indeed. I'd make Price a solid favourite, as it's clear (and not just with hindsight) that he's some way above Olubamiwo, but McDermott's not a pushover and never has been except that one night against Skelton, a long time ago.simon fox wrote:I can cede your point Oliver; I do however bristle when posters disparage very capable boxers. I once included McDermott in a list of "Britain's 5 most underrated boxers", about 4 years ago, and some people scoffed at the pick. Well, since then he's done very well against Fury and Olubamiwo - ask them if he's no good!

Re: David Price
pricey detonated a beautifull effortless, destructive right hand :!: he has got the klit stature as he can throw & land killer blows from a point of safety :!:
he looks like he has put some muscle on also & is looking the part :!: i just think he is chinny but has the ability to easily go all the way.

10 minutes in on rd 3. howard calls stop boxing once price just stops & straightens up after getting caught on the chin with a short jab. to me he seemed stunned & momentarily gone & lucky the ref broke it & that the opponent was ingelby.

we're not allowed to point out flaws in Fury, Price, Mcdermot and Larry O...it upsets their fans
Re: David Price
Price will beat Big John, TKO 1...I love to see Price figting Chisora or Fury!
Re: David Price
I think Price is much better suited to the amateurs, I think he is far to good for anyone at domestic level, I have always said he is in a different league to Fury, but I think his chin will let him down in genuine Euro title levelScrap wrote:Always thought Pricey would be better siuted to the Pros, it gives Him time to think.
