Frankie Gavin vs Young Mutley May 21st
Re: Frankie Gavin vs Young Mutley May 21st
Very easy to answer' brings the WBO itercontinental belt at 147lbs ' back to where it belongs, warren boxing organisation. then frankie will go back down to 140lbs to carry on.Pugilist-specialist wrote:I agree with you.Camcas wrote:I dont see what the point in fighting this at 147lbs is Gavin is best suited fighting at 140lbs its seems, so why put him in fights at this weight when in his tougher fights further down the line he will be in a lower division
Frankie is usually very forthright and quick to answer questions on here and I just wondered what his view was.
Re: Frankie Gavin vs Young Mutley May 21st
didnt frankie say he was fighting at 140 to win titles in this division? so why refuse to fight adnan amar cause it was at 147 then fight mutley at 147?

Don't suppose there's much chance of Kell Brook being your first defence ?
Re: Frankie Gavin vs Young Mutley May 21st
would be the best test for you that frankie seems as tho brook got his belt taken away for leaving fw,and this would shut your critics up and prove the gavin love train rightPugilist-specialist wrote:Thanks Frankie.Frankie Gavin wrote:Cause I am scared of adnan an mutley win looks better on my recordfasteddie wrote:didnt frankie say he was fighting at 140 to win titles in this division? so why refuse to fight adnan amar cause it was at 147 then fight mutley at 147?

Frankie!
After watching your stablemate struggle with a novice from the Ingles gym, did your trainer or matchmaker advise you to steer clear of Amar ?

Pugilist- give it up on Amar, already. he's fought once in the last 2 years, twice in the last 4 or so. boxing doesn't seem to be his thing, really. he may still have his name as some kind of eliminator but its well outdated. i would not be at all surprised if he never fought again.

Re: Frankie Gavin vs Young Mutley May 21st
When I was at a weigh in at Nottingham before Frankie signed terms with anyone, he was stood near Amar (think it was Witter vs Bradley) and he is a big lad, more suited to 154 than 147.
That was a couple of years ago mind, and Frankie's matured since then and grew more into his weight class.
But Amar is unorthadox, pretty strong and slippery - not a great recipe to showcase a fighter; It's likely the reason he hasn't fought too often of late either.
I suspect Mutley can punch harder, but is slower on his feet and more suited to where Frankie's career is at right now.

amar certainly big at the weight and extremely awkward but i would guess there's more to it than that behind him fighting twice in 4 years.....G0mez wrote:When I was at a weigh in at Nottingham before Frankie signed terms with anyone, he was stood near Amar (think it was Witter vs Bradley) and he is a big lad, more suited to 154 than 147.
