Re: Bellew too heavy ?
If its not for a world title surely they will have to pull it from ppv??
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
If this is the case I want a refund!
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
Not after that press conference they won't. Unless this is some sort of contract issue?Tommy Gunn13 wrote:If its not for a world title surely they will have to pull it from ppv??
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
He was weighed today by the BBBoC and they gave him the ok to go ahead with the fight. I can't see him being over 6pound.
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
Does it make that much difference to the value of the fight though? I mean neither will want to lose the undefeated record. Doesn't make the fight less interesting to me if it's not for the WBO strap.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:If its not for a world title surely they will have to pull it from ppv??
edit: I should add that the bill should never have been PPV to start with
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
I guess it will be for the title of sorts, Clev gets stripped if he loses?
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
allegedly should be offering refund if there is no world title on the bill!
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
that would be ludicrous.stujones wrote:I guess it will be for the title of sorts, Clev gets stripped if he loses?
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
I think it makes alot of difference, it shows that Bellew isn't in fighting shape and would have killed himself to try and make the weight.
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
National boxing journo Steve Lillis tweets, either 10 rounder or Cleverly against some other dude for WBO
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
If Bellew didn't make the weight and went on to win the fight, the belt becomes vacant.stujones wrote:I guess it will be for the title of sorts, Clev gets stripped if he loses?

Good point.stujones wrote:I think it makes alot of difference, it shows that Bellew isn't in fighting shape and would have killed himself to try and make the weight.
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
It's happened before. If one fighter doesn't make the weight it goes ahead with the proviso that the fighter over the poundage either doesn't win or forfeits the title on winning/drawing. Usually there is some sort of stipulation as to what the overweight fighter can weigh [over] the weight limit.apophenic wrote:that would be ludicrous.stujones wrote:I guess it will be for the title of sorts, Clev gets stripped if he loses?
I think the last time was Guzman/Funeka.
EDIT: Cleverly wouldn't be stripped so long as he made the weight, just wanted to clarify given what I quoted (!).

Re: Bellew too heavy ?
Wow, Bellew out, the Polish chap stepping in.
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
If the fight is still a go, he cant be that much over the limit. Cleverly isnt about to risk his career fighting a dude who is 12-15 lbs heavier, at least you wouldnt think so...wouldnt be terribly smart.
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
Well, that answers that, clearly he was way too heavy. Dont blame Cleverly's people for pulling the plug. He'd be in there against a heavyweight.
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
Kuziemski for the title according to Lillis.

Re: Bellew too heavy ?
He's out, clev fighting kasinski the pole who brahemer fought.
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
There goes many ppv buys.
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
I wonder if the chap who cancelled it and then bought it again, will end up cancelling again.
Re: Bellew too heavy ?
Warren lucky sky put up with all pull outs on his bills. I dont want to see Cleverely v Polish nobody! Never will buy a ticket for his show again.
