Really? There are some terrible, terrible mismatches most weeks on Friday Night Fights. Admittedly this year has been better than in the recent past, but it's all about Shobox when it comes to US prospects in even, competitive fights. The best fights on FNF tend to come from the kids in the 4 round swing bouts I always find, there can be some absolute crackers on there.keithmoonhangover wrote:Amen to that brother. Even the undercard fights are well matched on FNF.boxbet wrote:PPV to watch 2 virtual british title fights? We are all getting robbed. Bet no one outside of uk buys this. My sky costs £70 per month and now I have to pay more to watch british guys fight. Better value from friday nite fights from USA.

This season the favourite has lost in the main event more times that they have won.chrisfinch wrote:Really? There are some terrible, terrible mismatches most weeks on Friday Night Fights. DeGale appeared on that undercard purely as a PR exercise for this fight. Groves did exactly the same the week before in Huddersfield. Both were late notice additions to the cards, both shown on Sky Sports and both called each other out after stopping their overmatched opponents. Within days, this fight was signed! I bet the deal had been done before either boxed and Sky just wanted them out there quickly to refresh the public's memory.stujones wrote:Fury and Chisora don't seem to like each other, or at least pissed off with one another. Fury post fight interview after his last fight was great - it really got my up for a Chisora fight.
Degale is an Olympic Gold Medalist yeah true, but he is (perhaps surprisingly) not as big a star as Amir Khan and Audley Harrison. He recently fought on the undercard of a Ricky Burns world title fight, it was very much the undercard. Degale is not that well known.
Plus Fury and Chisora is at Heavyweight, and thats always a selling point.
Re: I hate PPV but....
No way is this worthy of pay per view. The undercard has decent names on it but they are all walkovers on paper. Knowing sky they will only show the 3 tittle fights anyway and we won't get to see the others.

If Adam Smith had any balls he should have told Warren to take sky sports 1 or fornicate off to Primetime! Its a worse bill than Khans!
If Sky want £15 for this ...
... how much are they gonna charge for an Area title fight in future? A fiver?
I was really looking forward to this weekend but out of principle i shall go without. A great shame. The whole Clev-Braehmer-Bellew-Unknown Pole fiasco absolutey reeks and i wont endorse it by parting with my hard earned cash.

Dead right. I'll now be boycotting this and would urge all who've paid to call sky demanding a refund. Better still, let's all jam the switchboards and tell them what we think.leforge wrote:If Adam Smith had any balls he should have told Warren to take sky sports 1 or eff off to Primetime! i hate it even more after this latest cock up of a bill - hope sky have shot themselves in the foot and scrap it- lot of angry customers out there- after degale /groves half of the o2 will empty not bothered to see cleverleys fight which is a shame for him but clearly understandable
