Predict Froch's next few fights....
Predict Froch's next few fights....
So, next is Ward. If he comes through that Bute, and then Kessler all being well.
If he loses to Ward I assume he will chase Kessler, and depending on how far Groves & DeGale have come, take on one of those in a homecoming as he has mentioned, before heading to 175 to beat up what will then be a 50 year old Bernad Hoblins.
Is there a boxer out there at the moment that has the options that Froch has? There are so many great matches for him out there win or lose to Ward.

Groves and Degale that would be mismatch. Win or lose the options are huge. Big fight in UKcarlbcfc wrote:So, next is Ward. If he comes through that Bute, and then Kessler all being well.

I think Kessler is his post Ward fight, no matter what the result.
Revenge, bigger name ( certainly over here in the uk, which is where it will take place ) than Bute too.

Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
ward then Bute if he wins the super 6 or kessler if he loses. followed by Bute/ward winner or pascal at LHW if pascal gets a title
Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
Well with the Super Six tournament, the Super Middleweight landscape changes frequently.
As of the moment, the big fight is Froch vs Ward and whoever wins that will be the Number One of the division.
Outside of the Super Six, it looks like Bute will be defending his title against Kessler. (Kessler wins in my opinion)>
If Froch lses to Ward, Kessler won't want him because Froch will have lost his world title. Kessler will then target Ward.
Either way, after Ward I think Carl has 3/4 fights left.
rematch against Kessler
rematch against Pascal (at Light Heavy)
maybe a fight against Kelly Pavlik (Froch wins)
and maybe a fight against Martinez

Yeah, absolutely has to be. And id say Froch would be real keen to set the record straight after their first meeting.yiddo14 wrote:I think Kessler is his post Ward fight, no matter what the result.

Kessler won't want any of Ward given how their last fight went.Crease wrote:Kessler will then target Ward.

3 more fights for the cobra, then retirement. win or lose v ward he will have 2 more fights.
Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
Carl Froch said he got 5 fights in him the other month.rhino222 wrote:3 more fights for the cobra, then retirement. win or lose v ward he will have 2 more fights.
Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
win the super six and we could see bute vs froch. and if he loses- hopkins could be a fight he will be keen to make - in the hope hopkins is got to go on the slide
Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
Nah, I think if Ward beats Froch then Kessler and Ward will face each other - it will be mandated. Ward will be WBC champion, Kessler is Champion Emertius - plus Kessler will want revenge.yiddo14 wrote:I think Kessler is his post Ward fight, no matter what the result.

Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
In my eyes this is what will happen.
Fights Andre Ward to unify the WBA Super and WBC belts wins that, after defeating Ward fights Lucian Bute who is also a Showtime Contracted fighter at the City Ground in Nottingham with the WBA Super/WBC, IBF and Ring Magazine belts up for grabs with them being the number 1 and 2 fighters at Super-Middle. After that Froch steps up to Light-Heavyweight possibly going after Nathan Cleverly in a domestic super fight or Tavoris Cloud.

If Bute fights anywhere other than Montreal in the next few years I will be amazed. Only way he fights outside his hometown is if he is fighting a tomato can, ie Jean Paul-Mendy.IRLangmaid25 wrote:In my eyes this is what will happen.

Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
Andre Ward looks overated and it might just be that I'm not taking to his style. He had the Kessler win but thats 'clouded' - butts everywhere and Kessler looked very flat - Kessler didn't look himself that night. Would love to see a rematch. Ward not done much since then.
Froch has done well by travelling but his performances haven't been Great. Losing to a faded Jermain Taylor then getting the KO, not knowing how to deal with the inexperienced Andre Dirrell (a fight many gave to Dirrell), losing in an exciting fight to Kessler (the right man won), beating the found out Abraham and now an old, slow, seemingly weight drained Johnson.
The names on paper look impressive but dig deeper and it ain't so great IMO.
Ward will beat Froch. Ward knows his own style while Carl doesn't.

Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
If Froch wins the Super 6 it will most likely be Bute next in a mega fight. After that a rematch with Kessler if he doesn't lose in the meantime and then Hopkins or Pascal depending on what they've achieved.
If he loses to Ward we could get the Kessler rematch immediately in order to get back on track and he could then continue with bouts against the likes of Hopkins, Pascal or even Pavlik. If Ward were to lose to Bute and Froch beat Kessler that would be a natural fight too.

Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
Froch loses to Ward and goes on to lose to Kessler again.
Forces old Chris Eubank out of retirment and they both stand there for 12 rounds with a low guard looking at each other
Ward, Kessler, Bute all being well.
I'm not sure he is going to beat Ward though .

i think you sum it up very well right there.carlbcfc wrote: Is there a boxer out there at the moment that has the options that Froch has? There are so many great matches for him out there win or lose to Ward.
To me if it werent for contractual repurcussion and being blackballed by a tv network again......it almost makes sense for froch to quit the super 6 right now as the moral victor!!
After all guys like dirrel and ward played the system.
Lets face it ward stinks out any fight and froch could make more money for a european football stadium war with kessler. He could make more fighting pavlik in youngstown ohio and you bet your arse he would make more fighting bute in canada
and i havent even considered bernard hopkins or pascal if he can pick up some kind of title!
I see froch beating ward but even carl will have his work cut out putting on a show with a stinker like ward

The Ward fight is no gimme. He will fight Kessler i reckon win or lose vs Ward. Even if he loses that i think he could still get a fight with Bute. Let's face it as long as it's in Canada Bute will fight anybody.

Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
my opinion is that win or lose vs ward his next fight will be in nottingham , if he wins he will fight kessler if he has beaten or been in a close competitive fight with bute , he would then imo ladly travel to montreal afterwards to take on bute , ive said all along that froch will beat ward but im maybe being taken in by the ward hype as it now seems a harder fight than i thought , ive not seen ward fight too often and from what i have seen i havent been too impressed , maybe i should stick to my instinct rather than listen to people on here ...... but theres some pretty knowledgable people on here who opinions cant be ingnored really , i guess we will see later in the year , im guessing around november .
Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
I was thinking exactly this earlier today.carlbcfc wrote: Is there a boxer out there at the moment that has the options that Froch has? There are so many great matches for him out there win or lose to Ward.
Potential opponents for Carl over the next 4 fights/2 years include:
Andre Ward (Super 6 final)
Mikkel Kessler (rematch of cracking, close first fight)
Lucien Bute (Match up of 2 top 3 SMWs)
Andre Dirrell (Less attractive than above, but has legs as a rematch when Andre returns)
Kelly Pavlik (Two exciting fighters would do good business at Atlantic City)
Jean Pascal (rematch of cracking, close first fight)
Bernard Hopkins (Potential to be man who makes B-Hop old has to be appealing)
Chad Dawson, Tavoris Cloud (Good, tough LHW matches)
Nathan Cleverly (Homecoming fight for a world title at a second weight)
and towards the end of 2 years there are George Groves and James DeGale who will hopefully have improved and developed into world class by that time.
Re: Predict Froch's next few fights....
Not quite. The Dark Destroyer wrote:Yes. Andre Ward has the exact same options as Froch. I'm surprised people are mentioning Pascal as a possible opponent for Froch, why is he? Carl beat him convincingly and he holds no title anymore, a pointless fight unless he wins something again.carlbcfc wrote: Is there a boxer out there at the moment that has the options that Froch has? No one wants to see Ward - Kessler again, Ward - Dirrell won't happen while they are best buddies, Ward v Cleverly, Degale, Groves has zero US appeal, Ward seems quite small for a SMW so I can't see him stepping up any time soon. So actually his options are quite limited - Pavlik, Froch rematch, Bute and maybe Peter Quillin, but its all a bit sparse after that.

Why cannot this become reality? 3 fights per year with a month off after each fight. Just over 2 years. He is 33 now and in his prime with no signs of fading. 7/8 fights I say !!!
