A very sad realization of the mess heavyweight boxing is in.
When a guy who puts in a pathetic performance - in a lacklustre contest, gets another straight shot at another world title.

Is it any wonder the USA aren't interested in the heavies anymore..

How could we ever forget it, have you seen the output from 'Yesterday'? Anyone would think WW2 (along with the assassination of JFK) is the only thing that has ever happened in the 4.54 billion years Earth has existed.

That some cretins still see Germany as the enemy 66 yeas after the end of WWII and 22 years after the fall of the wall is "LeedsLad's" point and I agree with him.
Yep agreed. It's bordering on the ridiculous. Germany and Germans are nothing like people think.
We're far from the only country to have misconceptions about other countries, just look at the Irish, Scots and Welsh views on the English

I'm people. I have also been to Germany a few times. Cool country with cool people. I think out of the whole of Europe, it is the Germans that we have most in common with.

Is this what you mean when you say Germans and Germany are nothing like people imagine?

The 'two world wars, one world cup' chant is tedious.

Those that think England is full of hooligans who see Germany as the enemy are as ignorant as the 'fans' that sing such a song and still bang on about the enemy :TU:

Correct! After the showing (or actually lack of it on Haye's part) against Wlad, Haye cannot expect a Purse anywhere what he received for that fight.

However, as mad as it sounds to me & you, if he beats Vitali, he's right back in there!

He's got to do something because I'd rather see him retire than fight a Chisora or Fury, whom I feel he is a level above!

Too much has been made of this interview.

Vitali's actual words are "maybe in the future" he'd like to fight Haye and then goes on to say Haye doesn't offer much without a belt. He also says "well you can never say never".

This has somehow been transformed into "VITALI WANTS HAYE NEXT" headlines.

Not sure why, and still don't think it will happen.

For Haye, he wants to beat a Klitschko and regain a world title and he clearly will not make anywhere near as much money against anybody else.

For the Klitschko's they know that they will make more money than against any other fighter as well as knowing that they should both win comfortably should the fight occur.

At the end of the day, all three guys are coming towards the end of their careers and are looking to cash out as much as possible. It's not like the division is loaded with great fighters against whom they can enhance their respective legacies. On that basis, the logical choice of all is another fight between a Klitschko and Haye.
Balderdash. Who is going to buy a PPV after Haye's pathetically flaccid performance, against the more reticent of the brothers? Only a damned fool.

There isn't half the money in this fight as there was last time.

I hope the fight doesn't happen. Why should Haye be rewarded for mugging off the british public.
Well millions of pounds worth of PPV buys were sold for Haye against Harrison so why on earth wouldn't they sell millions for Haye v Vitali?? I can absolutely guarantee you 100% that this would sell in its droves if the fight were made regardless of the likelihood of the outcome and anybody who believes otherwise is talking "Balderdash" as you would say.

Also, look at Spinks-Judah. Judah took the rematch for just $100,000 with Spinks set to earn $1,200,000. Judah brought little to the table as Spinks had the title and a hometown 20,000+ sell out but it was Zab who walked away with the title. That's having the balls to take a challenge.

The BBC has run with "Vitali Klitschko wants David Haye fight".
I don't think that's inaccurate from what he said (from what I remember anyway).

Saying he wants him next would be bollocks (again, from memory).

True, but bar peter, those guys got one shot each.

Peter did actually make a fight of it 1st time round against Wlad.

Can't remember where I saw Vit wants Haye next but plenty headlines of 'Vitali wants Haye'.

When his direct quote was "Maybe in the future" (as part of saying haye has nothing to offer) I think its stretching it a bit to even say that the headline is he wants Haye. Maybe I'll have a lexus in the future. Doesn't mean I want one. Think the press are flogging a dead horse here.

Yes, this is a classic bit of BBC misquotation going on. Transforming shit into shinola.

Vitali is saying he wouldn't mind kicking his arse some time in the future if the opportunity presented itself and Haye worked his way into contention.

That is not the same as 'I want to fight Haye.' It's more, 'I wouldn't mind if I ended up fighting him somewhere down the line, and hammering the rass out of him.'

How is it just for a guy who lost widely in his previous fight, to get a straight shot at another world title?
As poor as the other contenders are - they should get the next call. And Haye should fight his way back to contention.
And as for haye not being able to embarrass himself again ... he could embarrass himself a whole lot more against a bigger and tougher brother ..
Haye was diving to the canvas as soon as Wlad resting his arms on him, but remember how Hide was on the canvas when he fought Vitali??
And Lastly ... explain how Haye is the only excitement in the heavyweight division?
He put in a worse performance than most of Wlads previous opponents ... runs for dear life against big heavies ... and throws desperate single shots 2-3times a round ... and if they somehow connect ... calls them his Hayemakers :o

What you have to remember is that British fans will buy in to these kind of fights, even where their guy has got little chance of being able to get the win. Even though I think Haye would lose convincingly I'd still be more than happy to pay £15 and I wouldn't class myself as stupid by any means. Rather I'm someone who would view £15 quid as a small price to pay for watching what would be a big event, even if the fight was not competitive.

Take into account the media hype and the number of people who would make an impulse buy on the night and you would get a very successful PPV event.

One word: Australia.

Send an Aussie fighter overseas, watch him get whipped 119-109, 118-110 and 117-111, then log on to the Aussie forum to read about how he was robbed.

Watch Danny Green headbutt an opponent clean in the face and get DQ'd and then listen to the Aussies talk about how he was robbed.

Follow Danny Green as he moves up to a few pounds more than light-heavy, beat some old men who used to be super-middles or less for an IBO belt, and then listen as the Aussie fans seriously discuss his chances at winning a world heavyweight title.

Watch Kali Meehan get his ass handed to him over and over again at world level and then listen to the Aussies discuss his "potential" at 41 years old, if only he'd get the breaks.

Hmmmm........
