Getting back to topic and lets hope the trolls dont derail it again.... Keith, do you really think Povetkin is in the leaue of the Klitchkos? He has already refused to meet them once, and its my impression he seem to be in a stage of his career where he doesnt seem to be going forward more standing still.

Lets say we have a scenario where Haye now retires, Adamek loses to Vitali, Vitali has a swansong and calls it a day.....and Wladimir fights only one more year and than retires claiming to have cleaned out the entire division......if at that stage Povetkin than goes on to clean up and hold most the titles and be recognised as the number 1, and hell, lets say he has even improved from what he is now.........dont you think there will still be an impression he is that much worse than what went before him, and those that went before him are that much worse than the era of Lewis, Holy,Bowe and Tyson etc before that.......?

Povetkin's had some personal problems, but when he beats Chageev, he'll be ready for anyone in the world - Klitschkos included.

It is important to recognise that there always been eras when there has been one man dominating the division. From 1937-1949 (taking into account the Second World War) you had Joe Louis who made 25 defences of his world title. In the late 1980s you had Mike Tyson running amok in the Heavyweight division until he ran into James Buster Douglas one night in Tokyo 21 years ago and now we have the brothers K. In between these eras of dominance by these men there have been tiems when the heavyweight division has been wide open and very competitive. And I reckon once the Brothers K step away from the ring for the last time we will see potentially (we hope) an exciting era of heavyweight boxing.

WHat future is there for the HW division after The klitchkos retire in the next 5 years having seen off the false prophet david haye, a barrren seemingly non ending wasteland of talentless mediocrities like Fury and an army of eastern european robots and fat african slobs.

The future is that the Heavyweight Division will become fragmented once again, with 4 different World Champions who refuse to fight each other and contenders vying for the mandatory positions.

I won't really mind having 4 champions again, just as long as there aint any more than that (the IBO is getting credibility as Wlad past few defences go under it's history) and the Champions don't revert back to fighting once-a-year.

I merely stated it is my opinion or hunch, given how mexicans have started to take over boxing in terms of the amount of quality fighters and titilists, and that success has started to climb up the weights.

I may be right and I may be wrong but its just an opinion on what is an internet forum for a sport. Sporting success is not always predicted on evidence but sometimes a hunch or impulse.

- once Raul opens the floodgates (which he will in the next 5 years) then boxing will be saved.

As for Asian heavyweight/super heavyweight boxers - there are some tall Asians - at 6ft 2ins, I was nowhere near the tallest person a the university I worked out - not many built ones though, the tall ones seem to be quite skinny and it was the same in Korea - we have already had an Asiatic heavyweight champion though - Ruslan Chagaev.
