Povetkin's had some personal problems, but when he beats Chageev, he'll be ready for anyone in the world - Klitschkos included.mugabi wrote:Getting back to topic and lets hope the trolls dont derail it again.... Alexader Povetkin will dominate the division.
Lets say we have a scenario where Haye now retires, Adamek loses to Vitali, Vitali has a swansong and calls it a day.....and Wladimir fights only one more year and than retires claiming to have cleaned out the entire division......if at that stage Povetkin than goes on to clean up and hold most the titles and be recognised as the number 1, and hell, lets say he has even improved from what he is now.........dont you think there will still be an impression he is that much worse than what went before him, and those that went before him are that much worse than the era of Lewis, Holy,Bowe and Tyson etc before that.......?

It is important to recognise that there always been eras when there has been one man dominating the division. From 1937-1949 (taking into account the Second World War) you had Joe Louis who made 25 defences of his world title. In the late 1980s you had Mike Tyson running amok in the Heavyweight division until he ran into James Buster Douglas one night in Tokyo 21 years ago and now we have the brothers K. In between these eras of dominance by these men there have been tiems when the heavyweight division has been wide open and very competitive. And I reckon once the Brothers K step away from the ring for the last time we will see potentially (we hope) an exciting era of heavyweight boxing.

Are you telling me those 3 are our best chance of a future heavyweight champion? We are f*cked! We are not going to have a heavyweight champion for 20 years at least.jessi wrote:Well when you think about it, England alone has 3 hot prospects in fury, chisora and price, they might not be world beaters just yet but there novice pros. So imagine if every country has 3 prospects, there must be a few good names out there ! And dont forget povetkin. Just because there isn't an Ali, Tyson or Lewis around right now there will be someone soon I promise !
I do like the look of that Mike Perez tough. I think he does have the potential to do big things in the post-Klitschko landscape.

Potentially Povetkin is an absolute beast. Unfortunately he has had a loss of heart and bad handling and descended.keithmoonhangover wrote:When Haye,Wladimir and Vitali are Gone...mark my words......

Re: When Haye,Wladimir and Vitali are Gone...mark my words......
i remember watching povetkin in the olympics & thought the way he closed people down & put it on them was beast like.
i have not seen him as a pro apart from clips.i did read that he refused to fight wlad :!: which suprised me & wanted him tested or somthing.

sounds about right hurlock, you chose to troll a thread and champion a fighter in povetkin who has been a pro for 6 years and had 21 fights, as the next big HW , which is fine and dandy....except you than state you havent even seen him fight as a pro!!
you really are a prize tit and troll. Funny how all your posts are childish insults and ill informed garbage. You really do need to sod off to youtube along with your girlfriends so this forum can be left to the serious posters.

The opening post appears to be gibberish, mugabi.
Just like when you posted that you thought Haye had clearly outpointed Wlad.
Quit now, while you still have a tiny shred of dignity left.

Mexicans and Filipinos (note the correct spelling) .... are two of the smallest/shortest nationalities in the world, apart from a national law dictating that children are raised in grow-bags in a green house.... where the hell are they going to produce a heavyweight from? ...... ![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)

richard towers looks good and with the right fights and the right time he can beat alot of the guys in the hw division but needs to get moved along with caution as he is still developing..
Re: When Haye,Wladimir and Vitali are Gone...mark my words......
The HW division will become 'The David Price show'
(yup, he's the latest HW to suffer my reccommendation)

He's 32 next month, I know heavyweights develop a little later than other weights but I don't think they should be too cautious. I'd actually like to see how good he actually is.AliAsghar wrote:richard towers looks good and with the right fights and the right time he can beat alot of the guys in the hw division but needs to get moved along with caution as he is still developing..

Re: When Haye,Wladimir and Vitali are Gone...mark my words......
The future is that the Heavyweight Division will become fragmented once again, with 4 different World Champions who refuse to fight each other and contenders vying for the mandatory positions.mugabi wrote:WHat future is there for the HW division after The klitchkos retire in the next 5 years having seen off the false prophet david haye, a barrren seemingly non ending wasteland of talentless mediocrities like Fury and an army of eastern european robots and fat african slobs.
I won't really mind having 4 champions again, just as long as there aint any more than that (the IBO is getting credibility as Wlad past few defences go under it's history) and the Champions don't revert back to fighting once-a-year.
I hated those days. :x
And what evidence is there that Mexico will produce "The Next Big Thing"?mugabi wrote:No doubt the HW division is heading in the next 5 years for its bleakest ever period big fat slobs, talentless eastern europeans. No exciting black or white american talent on the horizons.....wouldnt it be fascinating though if some unprecedented exciting heavyweight emerges from a country u would never imaqgine like the phillipines?...or if all of a sudden a country like mexico or latin america suddenly starts to take over the hw division as they slowly and surely have started to the middle divisions.......I am convinced Mexico and by that I mean the country as opposed to american mexicans will soon produce a great HW and I dont mean a fat useless slob like Arreola. Man I see that 2 bit bum and pine for a talent like alex ramos
Or, are you only guessing...
Re: When Haye,Wladimir and Vitali are Gone...mark my words......
Crease I didnt say anywhere there is statistical or primae facie "evidence" Mexico will produce the next great heavyweight.
I merely stated it is my opinion or hunch, given how mexicans have started to take over boxing in terms of the amount of quality fighters and titilists, and that success has started to climb up the weights.
I may be right and I may be wrong but its just an opinion on what is an internet forum for a sport. Sporting success is not always predicted on evidence but sometimes a hunch or impulse.
Only time will tell if I am right!

CUBA - which has hundreds of amateur heavyweights/super heavyweights in the amateur system
- once Raul opens the floodgates (which he will in the next 5 years) then boxing will be saved.
As for Asian heavyweight/super heavyweight boxers - there are some tall Asians - at 6ft 2ins, I was nowhere near the tallest person a the university I worked out - not many built ones though, the tall ones seem to be quite skinny and it was the same in Korea - we have already had an Asiatic heavyweight champion though - Ruslan Chagaev.
