In goal, surely in goal.
I thought that to start with, but I see him more as the powerfull forward. Imagine Heskey with a killer instinct.

If you are anywhere near Canvey Island - drop in and support a brilliant charity and get the chances to meet some of those guys you've always wanted to meet and tell them face to face "they should have fought this guy", "they were crap". "you couldn't lace such and such's gloves!".

Or, if you prefer anonymity and the power of the keyboard just come and watch some top fighters try and kick a ball about and help raise money for kids with brain and spinal tumors - the charity provides gifts and experiences for these children to lighten up their lives and those of their families during dark times.

It was a terrific day out last year and this year look likely to be even better.

Great photo opps usually plus beer, burgers and sunshine.

Ricky Burns, Nathan Cleverly, Matt Macklin, Kevin Mitchell, Paul Smith, Stephen Smith and Barry McGuigan are some of the higher profile players.

So we have decided to get involved and send a team including no less that six Irish champions in an attempt to bring the cup back to Ireland, where is will be promptly melted down and sold as scrap.

Johnny is still looking for a couple of sponsors so if you have contacts maybe you could give them a nudge.

Do you thinks it's wise having Lee Murtagh on your team?

He's sure to pull out with a 'bad knee'

David Haye came last year and didn't play because of chance of injury. Couldn't make it this year because he couldn't push off on his right.

Ricky Burns
Nathan Cleverly
Kevin Mitchell
Matthew Macklin
Kel Brook
Paul Smith
Stephen Smith
Barry McGuigan
Willie Limond......

List keeps growing.

Gonna be a smashing day out. £10 to watch this lot kicks lumps out of each other for a small, children's charity.

Well yeah!

Although its more down than over for me as I live in Manchester.

We've been riddled with drop outs from the Boxing-Ireland.com team inc. the two Macklin's, Anto Fitz, Timsy and Pajo Hyland but we picked up a few decent replacements including Jeff 'Prizefakers" Thomas and Barry McGuigan.

Unfortunately I think it would be like press passes for boxing websites. If the floodgates opened for forums, millions of new ones which nobody ever use would emerge and the TKO champions league would have to start pre-season qualifiers in Latvia to whittle down the numbers for the actual day.

Not if its boxrec only, surely they will allow that as boxrec seems to be very well respected?

Boxrec is well respected and I do know what you mean, but I'd seriously doubt it. We both agree Boxrec is respectable, but what isn't to say other forums think the same of themselves? If you open it up to any old forum posters, the event loses it credibility.

There is also the fact that you need some exclusivity as part of the attraction to these events. The idea is you are going to see boxers, entertainers, writers etc playing against each other - not against a group of people who type into a forum and are probably not representative of the forum anyway. Unless it was Jon Saxon, the peoples poster

Again, I'd love boxrec to get a place but I'd think it a bad idea by the organisers.

I see what you're saying to be fair. Although, one team of box rec posters who are none celebs wont harm, surely?

I'm going to campaign to get us in there for next year. Plus, if we can add one or two pro's that post on here to make it more credible, i reckon we have a chance.

Go for it mate, just don't be suprised if it doesn't happen. A team of writers from BoxRec news? now there is a possibility......
