The world has gone mad.

Mayweather is an example of everything that is wrong when it comes to being a role model for kids, he is a clasless uncouth spoilt man child.

Shame you can't all see it.

As Bunce said, he takes ages to get a question out, bumbles and mumbles and looks and sounds disinterested. Floyd was a dick as Merchant does know his stuff BUT he does disrespect fighters.

Floyd did not cheat, the ref called box on, he was fighting hard and smacking him round and still no respect.

Haters hate huh.
At no point did Cortez say "Box on".

He said "Let's go".
But he did signal with his hands before looking away - imo its a case of cortez not doing his job properly yet again. Boxing signals are clear and decisive for a reason, how can a supposed world class ref leave it open to interpretation? I thought PBF was within his rights to box on.
Cortez is a clown and boxers should be protected from him. How can a ref be looking out of the ring when a guy is getting knocked out.

But he is the best boxer on the planet. If I want a role model I will look elsewhere...and so should you!

I pay to see him fight, not impart life skills to kids.

Is Larry merchant a role model?

History has shown if you want a role model, do not a look at someone who punches people in the face for a living.

Ownership apers? You are mine?

What kind of place is this?

As bad as Ortiz putting his nut in was, you can sort of empathise as it was a split second reaction born out of frustration.

Mayweather's response was calculated. That's the difference for me. Ortiz did something very stupid in the heat of the moment and Mayweather did something much worse, and did so with a cool head. Scratch cool, cold blooded's more apt. He showed an ugly side to his character tonight, or this morning I should say.

You can repeat the mantra about a fighter defending themselves at all times but whichever way you cut it, it was a sucker punch, 2 sucker punches. That's a cardninal sin imo.

Oh for christ's sake. Ortiz' move was TOTALLY calculated, he even took a step back to get more momentum before putting the nut on Mayweather.

Mayweather was within the rules. How can people complain that his actions weren't 'in the spirit of the sport' when he's just been subjected to a flagrant foul. Ortiz got what he paid for, play dirty, that's what happens. Should have protected himself. All that hugging and kissing was horseshit.

Well, I can separate the boxer from the man. Let's face it, many professional fighters are hardly going to win any popularity contests. Ali was a bit of a scumbag, a womanising, racist, bigoted fool, who had the temerity to imply that Frazier and Foreman were uncle toms, men who came from serious deprivation racism, whereas he was the son of a middle class family, whose experiences were far more genteel - yet the man is lionised because he was charismatic.

Floyd's lack of grace is his undoing, I can't stand his rambling nonsense, but he's about the best fighter living today, and for that, well, I'm grateful.

You wont see it because no one else is a egotistical prick lke that dumb ass Merchant.

HBO drop Floyd? Floyd has generated over $400M in PPV on HBO.

If Mayweather tells them no more Merchant for hs fights, there is no ore Merchant for his fights.

All Merchant does is ramble on like Uncle Albet from only fools and horses.

Another thing HBO could do is just not interview Mayweather after fights, that would seriously piss him off

No it would not. It would lose them viewers and piss off the sponsors of the event. Floyd still gets paid.

Fine, let them go and sponsor other events, there are plenty of corporations that would be willing to take their places.
