It wasnt boring when Mundine out boxed him, like you said Green has problems with blokes that can move, when Beyer out moved him that's when I knew Mundine would beat him, Green has big problems with blokes that don't just stand in front of him, anyway full credit to Green for bringing a world champ here. It shows that his got balls he just got hammered and his stepping in with a world champ straight away.Greek Bulldog wrote:I don't think Mundine schooled Green but he is much more skillful no doubt.
I thought Danny looked to light against Mundine.
Were does Danny go from here he should be fighting under cruiserweight but look who's waiting Dawson,Pascal,Hopkins,Taylor,Johnson

Totally agree Mark with your assessment.

I think people will look back and remember the Tarver fight that was Green being outclassed, Mundine won clearly, but in no way was it as dominant as the Tarver fight.
Mundine won in boring fashion, Tarver pretty much is the only person in Greens career that I've seen, that outmuscled, outboxed and out everything him.
Green beat Flores in a differnt way to any of his other victories, again watch the fight Brute and we'll be on the same page i'm sure, it just didn't work with Tarver.
Wow, cool, i respect your opinion and raise you with a rebuttal........wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Haha! I guess I didn't exactly make a good case for myself. What Tarver did to Green at the end of the 9th round was clearly the most damage anyone had done to Green in the professional boxing ring. However, I would say the 8 1/2 rounds leading up to that were more competitive than rounds 2-12 of Green-Mundine.Hounddawg wrote:jezzamundo wrote:I disagree with this, I actually think Green-Tarver was more competitive than Green-Mundine. I scored that fight 118-112 to Mundine, 8 to Mundine, 2 even and 2 to Green. Upon re-watching the fight, I was actually quite generous to Green and the fight could conceivably be scored as wide as 119-109, with Green only winning round 1. I also disagree that Mundine fought a boring fight, he had Green hurt a few times, just didn't have the pop to finish him off. Mundine beat Green through his handspeed, skills and head and upper body movement, it was a very impressive performance, albeit, against a less than impressive version of Green.
On the other hand, I had Green winning round 1 against Tarver before walking into that punch. He clearly won round 7 and was winning round 9 before he got hurt. He hit Tarver more frequently than he did Mundine, had Tarver more hurt (left hook round 7) and the rounds he lost were more competitive than those he lost against Mundine.
I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong. Just justifying my opinion. I'll agree through, that Tarver is the first person we've seen not only outbox Green, but also physically intimidate and hurt him repeatedly.

Never mind that Green has since won the WBA light heavyweight title. How many titles have you held?Mark pawsey wrote:The man Mundine schooled him but thats the Fight that mattered.Brute wrote:Green beat Flores, nobody else has.

Thats your comeback for everything. Are you suggesting that someonecan not have an opinion about boxing unless they have been a world champ?Brute wrote:Never mind that Green has since won the WBA light heavyweight title. Re: Green to fight for WBC cw TITLE?
tarver was the first person to hurt green like that because danny went to the ropes repeatedly and allowed tarver to tee off on him. it was a given that he was gunna get hurt. don't know if i've seen green allow an opponent to do that before, and don't know what the hell green was thinking allowing tarver to do that tbh.
maybe he was thinking tarver will gas out and green can then unleash on him. it didn't work.

Mark Pawsey puts himself forward as a pro boxer and criticises another pro. who has achieved much more than he has. By the way, where do you define "down under" as being? You obviously hate Australians or are you modeling yourself on Kostya Tszyu?thunderfromdownunder wrote:Thats your comeback for everything. i guess being critical of some fighters makes me a "hater" then huh.
Re: Green to fight for WBC cw TITLE?
No, but not really impartial. Mundine has been a lot more selective than Green in his choice of opponents since they fought.
Who has Mundine fought lately in the class of Jones, Tarver and Wlodarczyk?

Re: Green to fight for WBC cw TITLE?
hey im not defending mundine man. To his credit he did fight geale who is better than the old versions of Jones and tarver that green fought. I admit to not knowing much about the pole but he looks a good fighter. I will be cheering for Danny boy when the fight comes round i was just getting bored with his ibo "world champ" charade fighting the likes of briggs, siaca, dominguez ect. But i think Danny is the type of bloke who likes to please his fans and dosent like negative press and has since upped the ante in terms of opposition with Flores, tarver(who obviously wasnt as shot as me and alot of others thought) and now this guy. If he wins I'll be happy for him to call himself a world champ
Re: Green to fight for WBC cw TITLE?
Mundine got a split decision over Geale with his goons wandering around trying to intimidate the judges.

Hey Brute 33 everytime I write something about Green you get personal with me, can't you see that I just write things about him to gee people like you up & it works everytime. I know it was close but Mundine did beat Geale, who was on the way up at the time & since that Geale has become a world champ unlike Jones.Brute wrote:Mark Pawsey puts himself forward as a pro boxer and criticises another pro. who has achieved much more than he has. You talk about my record just because I say Mundine schooled Green & he did. I know what name your talking about well that don't worry me. I can't get that personal with but because you don't put your proper name on here, now anyone can get brave on a forum when no one knows who it really is.Brute wrote:Who's getting personal? Greens NOT even in the same class as Dawson,Pascal,Taylor,Johnson.
Roy jones jr was way past his prime n just lookin 4 a payday. Any CruiserWeight in Australia would KO jones atm. But da Green Bean bag thought everyone else is knockin him out, Maybe i should 2...Just 2 make a name 4 himself
Then Green thought i mite pick on Tarver & knock him out 2, but sure did pick the wrong guy with Tarver, The very same Tarver that in my opinion is also past his prime BUT still gave him an Ass Whoopin.
