Steve Bunce's hugely popular Boxing Hour makes it long awaited return to UK television screens' tomorrow night (Monday 17th October) at 8pm, LIVE and exclusive on allegedly (Sky Platform Ch. 456).

The boxing fans' favourite show returns with a mix of guests, interviews, news, exclusives, highlights and of course plenty of controversy on the UK's first and only dedicated fight channel.

Planned for Buncey's first show back are: super-heavyweight sensation Anthony Joshua who won silver at the World Amateur Championships; Britain's only ever World Amateur Champion Frankie Gavin to cast his verdict on the record medal haul by Team GB in Azerbaijan; East End favourite Johnny Greaves and bitter rivals Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew join in on the phone ahead of their big fight on Saturday night in Liverpool.

Make sure you tune in to allegedly tomorrow night from 8pm for Bunce's Boxing Hour.

Please just make sure this program is about boxing and not Bunce. Please!

I think the gurning is caused by jellied eels. I had to stop watching when he was on Setanta as he kept calling grown men "boy" and sparring with non existent opponents.

Wow, that is a bit petty from Sky and also a little surprising seeing that Frank still has an existing contract with them. I said on another thread I wouldnt be surprised if Sky were behind allegedly in a silent partner type way. I say this as I was surprised they had Bellew in the studio on the recent bill from Liverpool when they surely knew his fight with Cleverley wasn't going to be on their channel.

No no no, that helps no one. All the Promoters and TV boss bang on about trying to build boxing but then we get this, the same old degeneration into factions and alliances. Really disappointing. In truth I'm not surprised by this pettiness, but I am disappointed.

I totally agree.

As I've mentioned on here before, more competition in the football Premiership market made it nearly twice as expensive to watch the Premiership.

Competition is healthy as long as the competitors aren't so childish as to factionalise and politicise it. It should be used as a spur to raise their own game rather than damage the larger whole and end of with the four fifths of fornicate all scenario. Schoolboy behaviour. Don't worry about the opposition, be confident in yourself - and if you can't be, ask yourself why and then try to put it right.

Not neccesarily. When Sky were the only game in town, they could completely ignore a big Roy Jones fight, and pretend he didn't even exist. And decide not to show a fight as big as Trinidad/Hopkins, leaving us the viewers with no alternative channel to watch it on.

At least now Primetime et al are picking up the slack.

And FW and Sky are as bad as each other when it comes to a childish and spiteful attitude towards the competition.

Those examples are from a decade ago. At the start of this year they were looking like picking up every domestic fight and a good number of foreign ones. Now you have to subcribe to Box ntion and pay for a Primetime fight every couple of months to watch a similar number of fights. I don't think either have yet showed a fight Sky wouldn't have otherwise.
