Padwork Combo's....

Post by Emmseegee »

Has anybody got any specific techniques for when they are doing padwork, any particular combos etc?

Obviously there is the basic ones, Jab, 1-2, 1-2 Hook etc etc but id like some ideas when it comes to adding in some defensive blocks and ducks etc.

A lot of the videos on youtube etc are rank rotten!!!

look up coach rick on youtube, he teaches mayweather style pads. he also has some dvds. On youtube, you can also find an old Ringside mitt video from the 90s where Roger Mayweather teaches his style

Get the trainer to throw a few back at you. 1-2. then the trainer throws a left hook you duck under and come back with a big straight right is a good one.

Obviously some flaws with this kind of padding but I like it because the puncher must have good balance at all times to complete

This is a more normal round on the pads, the guy on the video I coached from scratch... He's done 1-2 hours a week for a year.
