i was just about to post that link. An official who shouldnt be there who isnt actually an official, who then celebrates in the ring after the fight. Redonkulous!

Re: Khan conspiracy
Freddie makes a really good point in the interview. It's very easy to be influenced watching a fight by the opinions of others. Boxing scoring is very subjective. Many posters on here say that they are influenced when scoring a fight by the commentary. The Dark Destroyer wrote:Another twist in the tale? He might not be an IBF official.

So if someone is sat next to a judge who shouldn't be, and is potenially suggesting boxer X has won certain rounds, or judge Y is scoring the bout differently, then that has got to be wrong!
Whether you think Khan won what was a very close fight or not, you must surely be able to understand his concerns????

Re: Khan conspiracy
Right, and none of us use our jobs/companies to get perks and go to things where we are not there in an official working capacity?
I use my job to constantly go to shows, be backstage, have a fun time. It's great.
If I was employed by the IBF then hell yes I'd also go to fights front row. And yes I'd be a presence and speak to officials since they would also be my colleagues.
Perks people, perks.

Re: Khan conspiracy
I haven't actually heard Khan ask for a no contest, the lad would be happy with a rematch I reckon. He more than has enough scope to get a rematch.
Maybe Michael Welsh had a golden ticket.

Regardless of the controversy, the fight was so close a rematch would be the fairest decision. Khan lost the fight through fouling which he was warned about more than once, so he only has himself to blame. When the man was seen talking to the judge he should have been removed there and then. I dont understand how things like this can come about, its not a small hall fight.

I think the point they are making is if he wasn't there in an Official capacity he shouldn't be interfering with the judges during the fight.loaded_gloves wrote:Right, and none of us use our jobs/companies to get perks and go to things where we are not there in an official working capacity?

Re: Khan conspiracy
the ibf are still mysteriously quiet.
the american based sanctioning body responsible for giving us eugenia williams.
and the jailbird ex president bob lee.
i thought khan won the fight.
the referee taking 2 pts off was ridiculous.
especially the 2nd deduction which cost him the fight.

He meant that the mystery man was interfering with the WBA supervisor......not a judge whose interpretation of the fight would have a direct impact on the outcome.orbtastic wrote:IBF supervisor, not working that night in any official capacity.saad muhammad wrote:He was the WBA supervisor.......not a judge.!
A rematch should be ordered, but the result should remain as is.
Re: Khan conspiracy
The only thing they are interfearing with is Khan's ££££££££ and they take that very personal.

Ah right. It was getting hard to follow with the previous comments.crusader wrote:He meant that the mystery man was interfering with the WBA supervisor......not a judge whose interpretation of the fight would have a direct impact on the outcome.orbtastic wrote:IBF supervisor, not working that night in any official capacity.saad muhammad wrote:He was the WBA supervisor.......not a judge.!

I agree. I don't think there's any wrong doing here, just get the rematch on. Were the shoe on the other foot, I'm sure Peterson's camp would be asking for one.

Re: Khan conspiracy
if the WBA are indeed insisting on a rematch, then all this nonsense about men in white suits "interfering" with people can finish. boxing often does have a bad image and this unsubstantiated stuff makes it all worse. let peterson have his 15 minutes of fame before he loses his title to khan, bradley or pacquiao.
also, fighters have certainly had complaints about refereeing when khan was the home fighter - barrera, limond - so what goes around comes around, you can't have things your own way all the time.

Re: Khan conspiracy
If the IBF don't insist on a rematch, could Peterson just put his WBA title on the line in a rematch so he is still a world champion no matter what the result of the fight?
Re: Khan conspiracy
well, it wouldn't be a first but surely if Peterson was prepared to fight Khan, then surely would be confident enough of getting a result - and putting both on the line.craigbaxter wrote:If the IBF don't insist on a rematch, could Peterson just put his WBA title on the line in a rematch so he is still a world champion no matter what the result of the fight?
The awkard situation for Khan is if Peterson refuses to defend and the WBA strip him - give Khan the title (or fight for the vacant, interim interim belt) but Khan is left not being the "man" in the devision.
Khan doesn't need titles, he needs Peterson. Peterson don't need Khan.
