You'd never get enough money to make the film properly especially what is a period peice...have you made any other films?

I have ties to film industry and just work for a few fighters as advisor on the side due to my passion for the sport both having participated and watched as a fan.

As for Alvarez over Mayweather, i give him a chance but if he waits another year then his chances are even better. Still think Khan would be a stylistic nightmare for Floyd so it's a shame Amir lost as he would have almost certainly have been the 1st choice for May 5th.

I see Mayweather winning by scores around 117-111 / 118-110

Canelo destroyed Rhodes, who ain't a small light-middle himself.

I remember Floyd arguably losing to Castillo when he moved up and challenged the WBC at 135lb , we're talking 154lb and he is massive at the weight on the night.

He's no baldomir !

Oh aye, tough fight in that he'd get hit back & probably marked up & shaken once or twice, yes, comparatively speaking it's a tough fight, but fuck me you've just said that a kid who beat Ryan Rhodes (no offence meant, lovely fella etc etc) in a competent, unspectacular wearing-down sort of job is more than capable of fighting Floyd bloody Mayweather...

If, if, if Alvarez had sparko'd Ryan in twenty seconds flat or shut him out without Ryan laying a glove on him, & then Alvarez had followed that up by beating the shite out of Cotto & maybe that K9 bloke who has (had? Light-middle is one of those depressing divisions where I can't even be bothered to keep up with who has what, these days) the IBF strap, then maybe I could kinda maybe see where you're coming from. Even if Alvarez had beaten who he's actually beaten but was Vernon Forrest tall & rangy, like, with a classically long powerful left lead & a thunderbolt of a straight right, then yes, I'd give him a chance.

But here on Earth One, I cannot see Alvarez beating Floyd until Floyd's about fifty.
:TU: Canelo is like a bigger Hatton in a lot of ways, remember how many times he hit Mayweather flush? I counted it at none. This is the same guy who failed to properly dominate Matthew Hatton, people are far too quick to label him a future great. Exciting sure, capable of beating Floyd?

He's too predictable and Mayweather would win comfortably in my opinion. For me Mayweather would have a field day with the likes of Alvarez, Kirkland, K9 and Angulo. Williams might ask some questions but I'd still comfortably back Mayweather. Martinez is the one for me who might have a chance

I can't see it somehow - It may be a while ago but I saw him against the inferior Hatton brother (who had to come up in weight) and he was not great in my opinion. On that basis this is a ridiclous thread - unless he has been on a completely different level altogether since then this would be a walk over for Floyd.

Hopkins is producing good performances, but him and Mayweather are two different people.

Do you honestly think that Mayweather is still at his best/in his prime?

If I may interject: no, he is not in his prime (which he spent with his feet up sipping Cristal & throwing dollar bills at poor people).

However, he does not need to be anywhere near his prime to deal with a one-dimensional, slow, prospect-at-best who has yet to be within a million fvcking miles of a fifty-fifty fight.

Add to the fact that I think Canelo couldn't hit the current version of Floyd with a handful of gravel, mate, & I really cannot imagine what has made you post this other than maybe concussion or DMT.
Canelo is just Cotto of 8 years ago just bigger. Mayweather will pepper him and make him look ponderous.

Mayweather will lose on points, Canelo is the future my good man and Floyd is going to have a rude awakening. He looked beatable in the Oscar fight and that was nearly 5 years ago. Alvarez will walk in the ring with a big weight advantage and it will be a close fight, but he will win.

At present I don't see Canelo beating Mayweather but in 18 months/two years it may well be different.
In saying that though I doubt Pretty Boy will step into the ring with anyone who might have a sniff of beating him so unless they fought very soon I don't see this fight ever coming off.

I'd like to know what evidence there is that Mayweather is on the slide. Cos I certainly haven't seen it.

This won't happen anyway. GBP won't let their cash cow anywhere near Mayweather (a bit like Arum with Pac)

De La Hoya has shared a ring with PBF and I thought Floyd looked beatable that night.

He is certainly beatable. But not by Canelo.

Besides, what's the point in Canelo fighting Mayweather? He has some good opponents in his weight division, and he's a big enough draw on his own to make the $$. I want to see him fight Cotto. And from Mayweather's POV, what does beating Canelo do for his legacy? Not a lot.

People forget that the next time Floyd enters a boxing ring he'll be 35 years old which is getting on a bit for a fighter like him who relies so much on his reflexes and natural athletic abilities and we all know what happened to RJJ when he hit that age from looking unbeatable just a few years before.

a strong young guy like Alvarez could just catch him on the slide especially if he roughs him up...i actually thought Ortiz had the right gameplan in that respect but was too mentally weak to see it through to the end.

Huge difference between Roy Jones and Floyd. Roy won the heavyweight title at 34 and then came back down to light-heavyweight losing around 25lb, so whilst that wasn't the sole reason that Roy dropped off the cliff, it was certainly a huge contributary factor. Floyd has maintained his weight for years and has fought a 147lbs for years also.
