Brett Flournoy murder trial
I just heard on the local news about the murder trial and death of Brett Flournoy and his accomplice who were shot last summer and the fact that they were noted as drug dealers. I haven't got much sympathy for this, I'm afraid.

Because I'm dissappointed that having being part of the Combined Services coaching set up when he boxed with us he chose that path. Tragic, grim and fornicating nasty, but why go down that way??

Would they have found the bodies if the accused hadn't told them they'd been murdered and buried there I wonder
Re: Brett Flournoy murder trial
I am not happy about anyones death, I first met Brett when he was based in Chatham, and boxed in the Novices, its the path that many have gone, but not ended this way, so, no, I am not happy, plymouthskinhead wrote:Because I'm dissappointed that having being part of the Combined Services coaching set up when he boxed with us he chose that path. Boxed him in finals of the under 20's was walking through most opponents with ease but brett beat me fair and square. Better boxer on the night and 1 of the best a boxed or spared, very good on his day, seen him again alot of times on shows together and at Karl Inces gotta say i aint happy not nice for anyone and feel sorry for his family RIP mateERIC GUY wrote:I am not happy about anyones death, I first met Brett when he was based in Chatham, and boxed in the Novices, its the path that many have gone, but not ended this way, so, no, I am not happy, plymouthskinhead wrote:Because I'm dissappointed that having being part of the Combined Services coaching set up when he boxed with us he chose that path. No sympathy really, obviously you can't walk a mile in another mans shoes and all that but had so much talent yet still got involved in that shit.

Re: Brett Flournoy murder trial
Saw several of his fights early on in his career, had a lot of promise... this is bad news all-round.
Re: Brett Flournoy murder trial
Presumabely because this is a boxing forum, and the news item involves a boxer.ERIC GUY wrote:so why put this up?
Not really confusing.

i thought he was greatMachoMan09 wrote:It is a sad story and most people who knew Brett would agree that he was a personable enough sort of lad. Why didn't the accused just pay up, surely that would have been an easier option than murdering two men and burying them inside their van.

All i'm saying is I'l obvious I feel sorry for his family, but anyone who involves themselves with that shit knows the risks, he obviously wasn't going down to give that fella a hug and say give us the money u owe us laddy.
Just because he was a talented boxer shouldn't excuse that he was a drug dealer - in fact the fact he had that talent and wasted it makes it worse.
Obviously I dont know him personally and hopefully he's resting there in peace, but I personally will never lose sleep over a dead drug dealer.
