One I mentioned earlier which doesnt get a lot of attention is Liston-Westphal, but Jesus H. Christ, you would not want to see that if you were gonna fight the man.
A CHILLING KO.
A CHILLING KO.

The punch Derrick Jefferson knocked out Maurice Harris with, looked like it came out from the kitchen sink garbage disposal.
If not for the difference in fighting skills,Derrick Jefferson reminds me a lot
of Jack Johnson.

Does the uppercut Earnie Shavers knocked out Jimmy Ellis count?
Shavers was sort of holding the back of Ellis's neck with his left glove
when he delivered it.
make me want to vomit too.

Oh, man. I still recall the first time I saw this. It was sickening, the way Ellis flopped about on the canvas, I remember thinking he looked like a fish outta water, or an animal exposed to nerve gas. It was just flat unsettling.Brutu wrote:Does the uppercut Earnie Shavers knocked out Jimmy Ellis count?

The Hearns right hand bomb against Duran
Marciano's right against Walcott.
Patterson's left against Ingo in their second fight.
Foreman's right uppercut against Frazier for the second knockdown in their first fight. That ended the fight in my mind.
Foster's left on Dick Tiger and also Mike Quarry.
p.s. Maybe I'm not seeing it right, but I've always thought Tyson's right hand on Spinks didn't really land on the button.
I also don't see any way Ali's last punch against Foreman is in the spectacular top class, either. Foreman fell nearly as much from exhaustion and actually beat the count, though it didn't really matter.
That is the one tha always come to my mind. What a knockout! It makes me laugh every time I see it.

BTW, I remember Al Bernstein saying Rodrigues hurt Holyfield with his right hand once. You seen that bout Saad? Was Bernstein right?

Yeah I saw it and I don't think he is right. One punch KO for Holyfield. I don't recall Adilson landing anything of note. Perhaps I'll re-watch it. I have Evander's career on DVD.

Heres the quote. Its ringside just before Bowe-Holyfield I. The context is a discussion on Bowes right hand and whether it can injure Holyfield.
"We saw Bert Cooper hurt him with the right hand, we saw Alex Stewart hurt him with the right hand, we even saw Adilson Rodrigues hurt him with the right hand --- but did any of those guys stop Evander Holyfield? They did not. Will he be stopped by Riddick Bowes right?"

I recall Holyfield having a much tougher time with Rodrigues than Bowe did, although I don't remember him being hurt. Then again it's been years since I've watched either of those fights.

John Mugabi's uppercut against Marvin Hagler (round 4 I think
) was an absolute beast of a punch.
To this day I don't know how Hagler took that punch.
Even Marvin himself said said it hurt, so it must have been hard. :P

Chris Eubank ko3 Jon Jarvis. Barry McGuigan's commutation almost as memorable as the punch, if my memory serves.
edit - should that be commutary?

Not really a one punch knockout, although Henrys left hook had the guy out on his feet, a pretty brutal finish
