Stayed up for the fight and pissed myself.
Last nights shobox - Chuck Giampa
Re: Last nights shobox - Chuck Giampa
Well I do hope Shobox give him a chance - that would be a disaster.
I found him a pretty awful judge..... his 116-111 card for Calzaghe vs Hopkins didn't make any sense for me. He also had Chavez AHEAD of Taylor at the time of the stoppage.

Funny you should mention Chavez v Taylor. Chuck Giampa has recently started for the Ring explaining scoring etc and he stated that Chavez's punches more telling than Taylor's quantity of work and he had it 105-104 to Chavez going into the final round.stujones wrote:Well I do hope Shobox give him a chance - that would be a disaster.

That card was awful, nearly as bad as 114-114 Calzaghe v Kesslerstujones wrote:Well I do hope Shobox give him a chance - that would be a disaster.

I saw on youtube an excellent "final analysis" of Leonard vs Hearns 2. Its a fascinating programme. I think it was Dalby Shearly (sorry I cannot remember who it was) - but the one who scored it a draw who actually said, just a couple of days after the fight. He thought Hearns won and couldn't really believe it when his card tallied up..... pretty much the same as what I said about Cal vs Kessler.
Jerry Roth - who scored the bout to Leonard.... I believe said something similar at the time, but in a more recent interview said on reflection. He stands by his decision, Ray won the fight.
