somewhere, in a dictionary, next to the definition of 'stepping the fvck up', is a picture of an ugly-arse ex-footballer-turned-boxer

Go ed Curtis my son.
Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
The initial request may have been aimed at blacks and jews(?) but fair play to Curtis for taking it upon himself to show us all how it's done. Well played sonCounter-puncher wrote:curtis wood wrote:im a grown man i dont need looking after, and my manager and trainer will be compensated for the fight, the only person not getting paid will be me but ill have the belt as payment, more than a fair deal if you ask me

Curt,
You need another long run mate.
Stop it with the raw meat !!

Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
No pro boxer should ever, ever be allowed to step into the ring without payment and shame on any promoter, opponent and broadcaster who would allow that to happen. A terrible precedent and I hope it doesnt go ahead on these terms (as much as I admire the spirit of Woodhouse).
Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
Surely Steve Williams is first in line for a crack. He's certainly earned another crack the British title.
Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
Never been Steve's biggest fan but I tend to agree with this. I also think his pressure style would be perfect for this fight, a bigger Ben Murphy with a bit more boxing about him, and a decent dig.THEBUTCH wrote:Surely Steve Williams is first in line for a crack. Trojan,
Didn't Haye do exctly that and just take the PPV revenue to make sure the Valuev fight came off ?
I might be wrong.
Clearly didn't work in the case of Groves and Chunky.
The bet was frowned upon by the Board !

He's just doing all he can to get the fight.......i just see it as someone who is mad for the fight and will do all he can to make it happen,
Whether it comes off or not, you can't say he didn't want it or shyed away from anyone.

Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
I can appreciate your knackers and love of a challenge Curtis. Can I ask if there's anyone in Britain/Europe that you feel is beyond you giving a strong challenge to?

Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
id be willing to fight anybody out there at 10st, but im sure theres a few out there in europe that would give me a good going over, but in britain theres nobody domestically that stands out as being anywhere near world class, thats my honest assesment of the situation
Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
Get the fight, then fake an injury the week before the fight. Tell them your not willing to fight for no money if your not 100% fit. Then get paid too
Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
Bloody hell. 'Boxer in honest assessment of his ability'
Is this a first?

Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
Based on recent performances, I'd be putting my money on Woodhouse.
Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
Aye, not been that impressed with Theophane since he returned to the UK. He was loosing heavily vs Daws untill he put him down and Daws was basically out of it for the rest of the fight. Struggled again with Cook untill he hurt him, same with Murphy.
Shown good power, but Woodhouse has a good chin.

Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
Eames kept saying 'tap, tap, tap, tap' throughout the Murphy fight. He trained Ash for long enough to know that if you keep him smothered it negates his undoubted skills. If you don't stay oh him like a fly on sht, he relaxes and gets good combinations off and can control the fight. I'm not talking about aimlessly plodding after him, the hands have to keep going aswell.
Re: curtis woodhouse v ashley theophane
gwoon Curti!! you still training down at Burton Street?
I have been slacking recently myself, back Sunday!!
Fingers crossed this fight happens!!!!
