If it was cheating, why would there be a short gap between rounds to give Enzo less time to recover?
exactly, i thought that too. its just an incompetent timekeeper, he was probably texting or something!!

Anyone else get the feeling the timekeeper was trigger happy and started the clock when they took the final instructions from the referee cos IJL instructions went on for good few secs more than usual?

It beggars believe though the guy had one job to time 3 minutes, 12 times and he f@cked it up, I know 4 year olds who could competently carry out the task.

without question, i should expect we should hear a decision in about 10 days, it will be ruled a NC and rematch end of may.

You seem very sure about exactly what will happen. Is this guesswork? Or have you the ear of someone senior in the board?

I think the timekeeper was early in a couple of other rounds as well, this time only some 5/7 seconds on about 3 rounds but it went largely unnoticed, not sure what the problem was but it did appear to have cost McPhilnbin his title so they have to order a rematch.

Hopefully Enzo will retire now, its just all gone from him, he could not seem to pull the trigger from the first bell, I think it was about 70 seconds before he threw a punch in the fight and then when he did he marched forward, ala Enzo of old but just did nothing.

I found it hard to watch as whatever everyone's own personal opinion, I always enjoyed watching him and thought he was a more than useful cruiserweight in his heyday.

I said elsewhere I think, that those concussive knockouts will rob him of any ability to carry a meaningful shot in the future.

He looked weak in the grapple and his punches carried little pop.

Yet still he gets these opportunities given to him. What's he earning lately ? About £5,000 a fight ?

enzo has taken a lot of heavy punishment lately,is he struggling for cash or something because he should`nt be taking shots like that from a fighter he once would of beat easily

I have no idea what his personal situation is but I don't get the impression it's about the money. He doesn't have the look of a jaded veteran who'd sooner be retired.I think he feels he had the ability to have a better career than he did and he's desperate for a last crack at it.

Im sorry, noone is THAT incompetent!. I used to see this type of thing pulled regularly in the continent, always when the home fighter wasnt doing well!. Im just surprised they didnt go the whole hog and switch the lights off!. This stunk to high heaven but the saddest thing is that I want even very surprised. As for Enzo he should seriously consider his future, if he is wise he will take this early/late Chistmas present and retire before he gets hurt, which he will do if he carries on fighting. With his vulnerbility, accummulated punishment and his ill advised weight yo-yoing hes an accident waiting to happen.

If it was a con designed to save Enzo then it failed miseraby. Every second between rounds is vital to the recovery of a boxer and the timekeeper gave Enzo only 30 seconds rest between round 1 and 2! Luckily for Enzo his opponent was so terrible that he couldn't capitalise further in the next three rounds while Enzo was still like Bambi on ice.

Nobody knows what will happen.
It's a Board decision not any one Board member's view that counts.
No one could possibly say what will happen on the night of the fight - although they may have a view.
Just like pushing Robert Smith for an answer to what would happen to Chisora before the hearing.

The job of a timekeeper is no easy task. It may sound simple but it needs 100% focus and concentration. Remember there were 10 fights on the bill with numerous rounds to time. A mistake can easily be made and this is the first mistake this timekeeper has ever made (in my memory). We are human and we make mistakes. It was unfortunate that the mistake was made during the main event.

It was a round full of action and incidents, therefore a short loss in concentration probably occurred.

Complete farce , Shane was robbed , simple as that .
It wasn't deleted - I moved it until it could be cleaned up.

Certain people would absolutely f**king love it if this forum was closed down and some posters on here are helping them get their wish.

Indeed.

That thread was full of potentially defamatory comments (towards the board and towards the promoter). You made the right decision moving it.

Well perhaps if there wasnt a mistake with the between rounds rest it wouldnt be so easy to pass the whole thing off as a burst of incompetance!. Sorry to sound cynical but I have seen this thing too many times before to belive that it is wholly innocent.
I remember seeing a British title fight not too long ago (I wont say which) where it was obvious to me that the boxers were fighting to order and basically having a sparring session, they seemed afraid of hurting eachother. After the 'fight' both went on to 'big' fights at differing levels. It was all very fishy. I have great respect for all boxers but this sort of thing is going on right under our noses and in some quarters it seems to be becoming quite blatent.
