So even if BoxRec complied with everying that the courts demanded, and gave every bit of information about the poster that they could, and rejected everything that the poster said. They could still be "actioned" against?

That seems very unfair. Would the theoretical sublimation of BoxRec be looked at in a favourable light by the courts, or like a neutral event?
Not sure what you mean by sublimation. But let me offer you a little scenario. Someone comes and wants to start a defamation action against an anonymous poster and the website too. Those bringing the action - or the judge, perhaps - asks for disclosure of the identity of the poster. Website says 'no chance'. This would probably be seen as obstructive and therefore unhelpful.

How would the website fare if the poster opened his account under a spoof hotmail address from an internet cafe, there is no way of tracing the poster then!

I suspect the website would resist attempts to reveal anyone's details as a matter of course anyway. But in that case, they couldn't even if even they wanted to.

This is why there are moderators in place - to try and deal with w*nkers like that.

It probably doesn't make sense, but I meant willing to submit to the authorities will.

So being unhelpful would cost the website more money?

Can Twitter or Facebook get sued for the opinions of their users?

Yes, I think being unhelpful would weaken a website's case (if their case was 'it's nothing to do with us, guv').

Ryan Giggs was advised by his law firm, Schillings, to go after Twitter. Can you believe that? And he pays a fortune for that type of advice.

In British law, Twitter and FB could definitely be sued but I doubt they give a monkey's.

Not at all.

Our law is such that even a newsagent can be sued for what appears in something he sells.

Absolutely, but a US based company (e.g. Facebook) is fairly safe regardless - it would seem.

He would need more than 40+ seconds to save him if Ovil hit him. He will retire now and go out a winner. Matty v Tony C for the vacant, winner to face Shane Mc?

One rule that has served me very well: Don't listen to Bunce.

Bunce ad libs a lot, which is very tough. Essentially he gets chucked in a studio for an hour without a basic script and is left to his own devices so in fairness that is a very tough ask so you have to compliment his media skills.
Maybe this is why he talks a bit of nonsense sometimes and also he is probably encouraged to be vocal and controversial etc. He is always entertaining though and I doubt many broadcasters could do as good a job in those conditions.

I agree with that, a lot of his commentary is done on the hoof and his enthusiasm for the sport is always there.

I quite like Steve Bunce and I am not surprised that he has been taking the "it was incompetence" line, because he wants to keep his job.

I am not going to condemn him for writing or saying that sort of thing, but I do disagree with his argument in the articles of his that I have read. I think anything he writes or says about sensitive issues like this when he is defending his employer should be taken with a big pinch of salt.

I am implying that in theory it isn't in his employer's interests that official's corruption at one of his shows, in favour of one of his boxers, is exposed (regardless of whether he had anything to do with it or not).

Any news regarding the outcome of the fight? A NC, rematch or we all move along? As the 'The Insider', you appear to know more than me (which is not surprising nor difficult, to be truthful).

The result will stand. I have been told there is a strong possibility that Enzo will relinquish and the title will be declared vacant. Rumour is Askin v conquest for the title and Shane could fight the winner, this is all speculation atm though, as you know it can all change in a week.
