New Interim Rankings system:

Post by Crease »

This new Sim season we will be trialling a new rankings system. The trial period is initally for Weeks 1-10 and we take it from there.

The new ratings system is a points-based system which basic and simple to understand. Fighters are awarded a certain number of points based on what they have achieved this season. Fighters win points and the points stack up during the season.

Below is the schematic for it:

5 pts - winning a title (WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO) - not in operation until Week 6
4 pts - successful World title defence (WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF) - since they are fighting top 10 guys - not in operation until Week 7

3 pts - a win against a managed fighter.
2 pts - a win against a CPU opponent.
1 pt - a draw
0 pts - a loss

So basically, it's an accumalator - fighters pick the points up as the weeks progress.
(We'll just try it out for the first 10 weeks, then if it doesn't take off, we'll revert back to the Title Bout rankings)

The good thing about this system is that it's clean-cut and easy to understand. And it will make it easy structure the rankings for the World title eliminators which will be coming up in Week 6.
:TU:

Thanks for your time, and I wish you all a successful season.

Could you provide the TB rankings every 5 weeks so we can see which is working best please Crease?

Also will the organisation rankings stay the same?

Yes we'll probably revert back to the Title Bout rating after Week 10 - I am only using this points-based system as a way seeing how the front-runners are at the start of the season (for the title eliminators).
:TU:

And at the end of every week, I will post who the top fighter is (ranked by the Title Bout ratings) and we'll call that:
THE RING FIGHTER OF THE WEEK!

Are you really?

Could you do a page of rankings, page of fighters, page of results, and then link them up by formulas?

Could easily make my ranking formula work if so (was far too tedious to keep updated beforehand).

I didn't mind keeping it updated week-by-week... But if you wish, do you want to mail me your formula and I'll have a look at it.

My way is just as straightforward as possible, (kinda like the Premier League format).

The trusty yet mysterious TBII ratings will be posted routinely for comparison.

Crease's vigilant efforts will help keep him off the streets, thus increasing the chance of stability within the republic.
