Who did Hatton's dad play for?
I keep reading in the papers that Roy Hatton is a 'former pro-footballer'. Does anyone know his history, what club, did he ever win anything?

That's Ray Houghton. It'll just be a transcription error. Best days with Liverpool and the Rep of Ireland.

Copied this from the Man City website....so hopefully the definitive answer!

Atricle on Ricky....blah, blah....and then the bit that relates to this thread....(bolding is mine, John2345)
His father Ray was a City player in the mid 1960s though he never played at first team level. Ricky came close to following in his father's footsteps and could have been running the Blues engine room for Stuart Pearce.
"Because my dad was on the books at Maine Road before an injury ended his career, it was natural that I should grow up as a City fan," he explained.
"I was a fairly useful midfielder when I was a kin and represented Tameside Schoolboys.
"Then I spent two years at City's School of Excellence and for a while thought I might be following in my father's footsteps.
"But all the time I was being pulled towards boxing. I spent so much time chasing fights that I hardly attended City's School of Excellence and, in the end, the club decided to let me go.
"But as things turned out, that was best thing that ever happened to me."
