Mormeck is now WBA 'super champion' as he holds more than one belt, which means the regular title is available for the WBA to screw more sanction fees out of people.

reminds me when Hopkins' WBA title was split to accommodate Joppy. wish Mormeck would do what Hopkins did to Joppy & hammer & humiliate him for it.
Funny thing is Mormeck already battered Hill into submission and won a surprisingly tough rematch! Would be funny if he found a way to Hill III although obviously it's besides King's and the WBA's point.
Whatever, let's hope this doesn't stop all these excellent top 10 guys from fighting each other. Hopefully Showtime don't endorse this nonsense, as they are supposed to only approve the best available fights.
I brought this up on the current scene. It's absolutely ridiculous. Is the WBA ruled by headless emus or something. If you have an undisputed champion of the world, you can't have another world champion. You're just admitting the 2nd guy is 2nd best. Absolute farce and it should be stopped.
And Virgil Hill retired after he lost to Mormeck. Now I wonder what's brought him out of retirement???

i admit Hill gave Mormeck a much tougher rematch compared to their 1st bout where Mormeck really pummeled him...still Mormeck never was put in trouble during their rematch...Mormeck floored Hill who nevertheless suffered and was at least 3 points behind Mormeck...but from what i've seen in Mormeck's bout against Braithwaite, Mormeck has improved a LOT and is even bigger and stronger, Hill would get killed in another rematch with Mormeck...

Maybe DLH - Trinidad? Julio Diaz stepping up to face Castillo was a 'virtual' WBC/IBF unification, but if I remember right Diaz had to vacate it beforehand due to some red-tape nonsense from the 'sanctioning body'.
That's a good question though, because the WBA seem to be involved in the majority of unifications.

Hill did ok in the rematch, but Mormeck was always ahead plus he knocked him over. I don't think it should've been scored as close as it was. JMM was a little raw & he learned a lot against the veteran.
