Booth/Casey in the works
Re: Booth/Casey in the works
Booth has been a great servant for British boxing but I think it is time he moved in training. He is has a lot of miles on the clock now & isnt going to beat any of the top bantams/superbantams anymore.
Re: Booth/Casey in the works
Would like to see him fight a top bantam as he only weighed 8.8 for Galahad
Re: Booth/Casey in the works
Booth is well cooked, but he may still have enough left to ask Casey a few questions, or even win the fight. Casey, in all honesty, just isn't that good.
Re: Booth/Casey in the works
Will soon be running out for sympathy for Booth if I hear a "I'm a Bantam" line again post fight. Yes, he is a Bantam.... but fight Bantam's then and turn down these fights with big Super Bantams.

Casey is the type of fighter still at a pretty good level that will give Booth some chances in this fight. Casey isn't that big and strong and leaves himself open all night, Booth should have a fair amount of success if he can get his punches off but the danger will be simply being outworked in this fight...which will probably happen.
I don't mind the fight though, I'd watch it.
Re: Booth/Casey in the works
I think Casey will bring too much volume for Booth. Booth in his day was a class operator he is a bit past it now though he still has some of the tricks. Think he should hang them up after this one. Hope he can find a role for himself in boxing because I know it is his life.
Re: Booth/Casey in the works
I think it is a pretty good fight.
I didn't like Frampton dismissing Booth as an opponent like he was already beyond him, when he hasn't beaten anyone as good as Booth yet.

Re: Booth/Casey in the works
Booth bantam prob doesn't fight at that weight as no bantam would fancy it and casey last fought at feather so what weight this at I'd still like to see him down at 8.6 as what I seen in the Galahad fight has plenty left
Re: Booth/Casey in the works
You can see why Frampton said it though, considering this little run of losses that Booth is currently on a win against Booth for Frampton would ultimately do very little for him. Booth needs a win to prove he still has something left at this level. This is a good fight for him, if he can handle Casey then he would certainly prove an OK opponent for Frampton.
I do hope Booth can get a decision, he should do better than he did against his last 3 opponents anyway.

Re: Booth/Casey in the works
Casey to win via clear decision or late stoppage. I know hes fairly limited and all, but he should have enough to take care of a way past it Booth.
Re: Booth/Casey in the works
Frampton's opposition has been fairly weak, his dismissal of Booth as a possible opponent is ridiculous.antcull wrote:You can see why Frampton said it though, considering this little run of losses that Booth is currently on a win against Booth for Frampton would ultimately do very little for him. I don't like Frampton, he seems far too big for his boots and I hope a British or Irish fighter is able to humble him soon.

Re: Booth/Casey in the works
Not a bad fight TBH, I would rather see Booth retire though.
Casey will more than likely outwork Jason, who is way over the hill.

There's not much doing at Bantam though, until McDonnell possibly steps up and vacates his British/Commonwealth titles. I guess at this stage of his career Booth will be thinking he can't afford (in both senses) to hang around and wait for another shot at the lighter weight..stujones wrote:Will soon be running out for sympathy for Booth if I hear a "I'm a Bantam" line again post fight. Aye, I do quite like the fight. A good one for Booth if he needs to box on. If he does lose it then I'd like to see him hang them up, but I would've liked to see him hang them up before he fought Quigg.

Yeah, I think he should have hung em up after the Molitor fight, maybe he needs the money.Bryn wrote:antcull wrote:Bryn wrote:Booth is well cooked, but he may still have enough left to ask Casey a few questions, or even win the fight. Casey, in all honesty, just isn't that good.![]()

I get the feeling he really loves boxing and just can't let go. We've seen it all before and it rarely ends well.BoxingAnalyst wrote: Yeah, I think he should have hung em up after the Molitor fight, maybe he needs the money.

Great few fights on the horizon, eh.
Got Jazza Dickens coming through nicely too; he'll be a star.
