I hope this isn't a 'world title' defense, Rodriguez would struggle to be in the mexican top 10 let alone the world top 10. I think it's time they unwrapped him from the cotton wool.

Where did the story come from? Rodriguez is a super feather with a 21-3 (19KO) record.

Escobedo was his mandatory only three months ago. As champion he is entitled to take a non mandatory challenge.

But what right does this guy have to challenge for a version of the world title? Surely a mandatory challenger has be in the top 50 in the world.

Go tell a pro boxer with 19 KOs to his name that he is a road sweeper. You could do with a good hiding.

It is not a mandatory. Escobedo won an IBF eliminator to fight him so he was a mandatory. He can have an easier fight now.

I take it you've never heard the term 'mexican roadsweeper'? Just look down Dib's record. He could start a cleaning agency with it.

I mean't to write voluntary. Like I said there's no way this should be classed as a world title defence.

Did Joe Louis fight a no 1 or 2 contender every time he defended his title? No. People are whining about Dib not fighting enough now they whine about him keeping busy defending his title twice in four months. Make your minds up! The WBA has three Super World Featherweight champions and they have to find contenders to make title defences against too. It is a division crowded with champions.

If it's a keep busy fight then it should be a non-title 10 rounder. Calling this a world title fight is putting boxing in a bad light and conning the public.

About as excited as I was about Henry Cooper constantly ducking George Chuvalo when George was the only real contender for Henry's Empire title. Why?

Horse shit! The Klitschko brothers defend their titles every time they go into the ring regardless of who they are fighting, don't they?

According to that report it is, I think Brute's trying to get a seat on the IBF's commitee table in between Stevie wonder and David Blunkett.

I just think it's unusual to defend a title against a boxer ranked 84 in the world let alone against a fighter without an IBF ranking.

But i have been wwwwrong plenty of times before :-?

Twice Lennox Lewis defended his title against fighters who were not supposed to have a chance and got KOed. There is always a chance.
