Do people think that Chisora's actions should have been ignored after his actions in Munich or is a ban a reasonable punishment?
If you feel punishments should have been handed out, do you agree the BBBoC were the correct body to deal with this?
If Chisora misbehaves again who should have the right to punish him now!

Muhammed Ali was banned by the Nevada commission for non boxing reasons and so fought Jerry Quary in Georgia, the only state that would license him.

I think a commission has the right to ban someone from fighting on their own turf.
I would have no problem with Haye v Chisora fighting in Luxembourg.

In the unlikely event of it actually taking place , it means all those involved have actually no moral principles whatsoever . You have an absolute cowardly moron fighting a money grabbing big head and you all want to see this and make them and others , wealthy .

Has anybody heard anything about the respective training camps ? I'm assuming for this great battle they will be well into their training schedule by now .

Trust me - Haye injuries his back at the beginning of July .
You must be a tough man if you feel comfortable calling boxers cowardly

Ali was 'banned' for totally different reasons than Haye and Chisora... ie having the courage to stand up against being used as a puppet to prop up the Vietnam farce...

I have ZERO problems with this fight happening as long as it's regulated and supervised to the usual professional boxing standard we have in Great Britain which i'm sure it will be.

This is an outstanding fight between 2 of the best Heavyweights not only in GB but the world and any boxing fan should be thankful it's taking place.

The BBBofC were a total disgrace for taking away a pro boxers license without giving them a length of punishment....after all what he did in Germany hardly constituted more then a slap on the wrist and a 3 month ban at the most. Infact you have to give any professional boxer some leeway a day before and after the fight when they're in fight mode and still have all the adrenalin and tension of the fight, now if they did this outside of that window i'd be totally in agreement.

It does remind me of that Joke in Dr Stangelove.

So its totally acceptable for boxers to spit at, and slap their opponents and opponents conermen and indulge in after fight brawls because of the tension of the upcoming fight???? dear lord!. I suppose you think it was acceptable when Chisora bit Paul Butlin during their fight too??? all in the name of adrenalin and tension???

Did the spit and slap constitute a ban, maybe so, but a definite ban should have been imposed in a reasonable timeframe. You can't blame boxers for wanting to earn a living

The post fight brawl should've been a matter for the authorities

The difference is we have a NATIONAL commission - and personally I think it makes a mockery of the sport if any promoter can stage a fight through a foreign board, and then stage it in the UK. It would be like staging it in Nevada, via the Georgia commission.

I personally feel it brings the sport into disrepute, because it removes the authority of the BBBofC. Whatever their flaws, we should be thankful we have a national body administering the sport.

I just think it is a step in the wrong direction. What is to prevent any promoter from staging all their fights via the likes of Luxenbourg and circumventing their regulations. Do we have faith that the likes of Luxembourg are going to give a toss about the welfare of the fighters, and make sure all of the checks and safety measures are there - do they hell as like.

The BBBofC are the auhtorities in this instance. If they feel the sport is being besmirched, they have a right to act on it. Whether or not you agree with their actions is another matter, but they are within their rights to act on the event.

BINGO! This is the essence of the problem - let them fight in Luxembourg by all means, but staging it in the UK is just using a (perfectly legal) loophole, which usurps the BBBofC's rightful authority over the professional sport.

Maybe those men will become Haye and Chisora after they fight. Stranger things have happened.

The BBBofC thought they could show their brawn here over the Germany incident, and it blew up in their faces.

This is boxing, some people forget that sometimes.

Fighters getting banned for fighting, whatever next?

Why should Haye have to explain his behaviour to the BBBofC?

Why should Chisora be banned from being able to make a living for any amount of time?

What happened was in Germany. Is that any of the business of the BBBofC? Why are they getting involved?

It's not as though either of them turned and beat up a BBBofC official during a fight in Britain.

Great post.

As you said Haye has absolutely nothing to answer for with the BBBofC. I don't even think Chisora has either for the slap or spit which may have been a bit crude but hardly constituted a 'indefinate withdrawal of a license'.

The post conference brawl has nothing to do with the BBBofC, the german police did their investigation and didn't make any charges so it's really nothing to do with anyone else.

If some of the allegations Mr Warren has made about certain members of the BBBofC past or present are true then i'd be more then happy to put an end to their sham organisation and start afresh with a new independent and non corrupt one instead.

Can I ask just in case anyone knows the answer - who is David Haye licenced with ? I saw the publicity with Chisora getting licenced - but did Haye ? Was the announcement made on Wednesday about who was fighting on the undercard ?

Is nobody taking me up on my prediction that the fight isn't going to happen .

What a daft argument. Chisora doesn't have a 'right' to make a living from boxing - any more than a doctor has a 'right' to practice medicine, both are professions which require a license, if you conduct yourself in a manner which displeases the governing authority, then you have you license to practice removed - this is not peculiar to boxing.

The fact is that both fighters either were or had been licensed in the UK, the incident took place in germany, but guess what, it was shown on TV and in the newspaper in the UK. We don't live in the 18th century, a fighters ill advised actions take place in a global arena, and therefore where the incident occured is a relative irrelevance.

Boxers fight in a ring with referees, thugs fight in public with weapons. If they left their fighting in the ring there would be no problem.
johnswan1 wrote: Why should Haye have to explain his behaviour to the BBBofC?
Haye should only have to explain his behavior to the BBBoC if he wants to apply for a British license or fight in Britain again.
johnswan1 wrote: Why should Chisora be banned from being able to make a living for any amount of time?
Being a professional boxer comes with responsibility, he is not the first fighter to have had his license taken away because of bad behavior. If he cannot conduct himself in a fit manner the authority needs to have means to regulate his behavior. His behavior in Munich was disgaceful and he deserves punishment.
johnswan1 wrote: What happened was in Germany. Is that any of the business of the BBBofC? Why are they getting involved?

It is the business of the BBBoC because it involved one of it's license holders.

Exactly! this is boxing and behaviour like that exhibited by Haye and Chisora should have no place in it. The fact that you seem to fail to understand this is a rather sad reflection on the lack of standereds in general in modern society today. Perhaps I am a bit of a relic but I actually believe that rules of behaviour are made to be followed and you do not simply massage the rules to fit your own aims and pockets. I have to hand it to F*ank he really knows how to lead the sheep into his field. I wonder how many of the boxing 'fans' who are so excited about this fight were excited about Haye vs Harrison too???.... lol!. Itd be funny if it wasnt so sad.

Don't you think the BBBoC took into account Chisora's past offensive in giving him this punishment.

Did the slap, spit and brawl warrant only a 3 month suspension..... possibly (I would say it warranted a 6 month suspension personally).

However, add to that his previous issues, which have resulted in suspensions - then I think the ban of him needing to re-apply for his licence was more approrpaited. Clearly, just giving back his licence with no questions asked after a certain length of time didn't really work.

The guy is a loose cannon and needed to be re-assessed, perfectly approrpiate. Mr Warren states that by not giving him a date to re-apply the BBBoC forced his hand..... there was nothing stopping Dereck re-applying a month after the fight, and none of these problems might have surfaced.

What goes on tour stays on tour.

Given some of the opinions on here, I'd hate to go on an overseas stag party with some of you lot!

Talk of punishments, having to behave in a certain manner etc., give me a break!

What exactly did Chisora do? i'm still bemused that a fairly innocuous slap and spit at the Klitsckos is anything worth punishing unless the receiver of the slap or spit made a complaint which they didn't. I see the truth that the Klits team can sometimes be bullies and in some cases scumbags so i applaud Chisora for standing up to them and putting them in their place.

Derek should not have got any type of ban for either the slap or spit and at best maybe a 3 month ban for the press conference brawl but even that had nothing to do with the BBBofC as it was up to the German boxing commission to impose their own sanctions even though they're a complete joke and scumbags too.

Even though i'm a total republican and anti-monarchist and hate all the honours list i do think the Queen should at least give Del Boy an MBE for his services abroad in Germany and i'm not even being festicious.

Now let me make this very clear, if the BBBofC had done this when Chisora bit an opponent in the ring or was convicted of hitting a woman i would have applauded them but you can't retrospectively punish someone when you should have punished them properly in the first place.

The truth will out soon about the BBBofC and it's the reason they've gone quiet and into hiding!
