What is a Super Champion?
Well firstly it is NOT a title, (we have enough of them as it is) - Super Champion is a status granted by one of The Big Four boxing bodies (WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF) to a Champion who successfully defends his title 3-times-in-a-row. And thus becomes a Super Champion.
For an example, should Benny Leonard retains his title this week he will then become WBC Super Champion..
Note: Whoever he loses the WBC Title to does NOT become Super Champion, the only way to become a Super Champion is to have three consecutive title defences.
The privilege of this status means that Leonard would then be able to unify the WBC Title immediately shoud he win it again later in the season. However, should he win the WBA, WBO or IBF titles he can't unify immediately because he has not been a Super Champion with their organisation - so it would be only for the WBC.
Like all ideas, it has it's flaws... And for example, later in the season it is possible that there might be fighters with more defences than some Super Champions, yet they are not Super Champions withselves, because they didn't defend three times in a row.
But this is just an ingredient for our pot, accept or discard it as you wish. As always, the people will have their say and decide this matter.
Good day to you all. And good luck to the Prizefighter guys (C'MON KID CHOCOLATE)
