No matter what people think of his boxing ability, Tyson always comes across as polite, respectful and ambitious whenever I have interviewed him. Exactly the same last night. Beat whoever is put in front of you and you will progress. Maddalone was obviously selected as an opponent who wouldn't threaten the dream of a fight with Wladimir and so it proved, but Tyson did the job admirably in my opinion and now he is that bit closer to the world title fight. Good interview. Fury knows the games and makes some intelligent, realistic comments. Personally I'd be in no rush with Fury, he's got a good thing going with live saturday night ch5 coverage. Probably got double the viewers of any other british boxing show that night. Hennesy could do with delivering an opponent close to world class next time, but I'm enjoying the show so far. Fury never ceases to entertain.

The lads only 23 years old, what's the rush???? Let him build his way up, what's the point in throwing him in with a Klitschko to get ruined. He's active and learning his trade so let him work his way up and get plenty more experience IMO

Hennessy was talking about ademek after the fight, would like to see how he copes with him. Wether it will happen is a different story though.

Drug test him though. His increase in mass from 175lb is fishy at best.

Heavyweight just has a bunch of recycled 'contenders' hanging around like a bad smell hoping for a callup for a payday with a Klitschko. They won't fight anyone else. Someone mentioned Shane Cameron, Kevin Johnson, and someone else. But why would they want the fight? Maybe with the increased exposure for Hennessey he could find the money to get Fury a fight with this level of competitor, who will demand money. But what about Price? Has Maloney got the same level of resources?

Then there are journeymen. They'll fight, for varying degrees of money, but varying degrees of usefulness. Who's in between? Euro level? How do you get a euro title callup vs Pulev? Won't he be waiting on a Klitschko too? Why would euro-level guys like Dimitrenko risk fighting Price?

Noone wants to fight, there's no real way of building a fighter in HW. It's depressing.

Fury is young so he can fight tough journeymen for a while. But it kind of makes no sense since he has already beaten Chisora to take a step back.

Price however needs to get a move on!

I really feel for the promoters as there just aren't a lot of options out there. It doesn't help that both these guys will be competing for meaningful opponents at this stage.

Sherman Williams or Shane Cameron (both coming off wins) would be okay. Other decent choices: Carlos Takam, Kevin Johnson, Juan Carlos Gomez and Franklin Lawrence.

To answer your question, the Promoter needs to take a chance and pay a decent opponent decent dough.

I like Fury, and like him more with each fight (on Saturday he was in the best shape I had seen him and he boxed lovely).

Hennesy is in a difficult position though - Fury was talking about taking on all comers, but Hennesy knows that the golden goose / holy grail of a heavyweight champion will produce massive dividends in the future (the Irish Americans are fed up with Eastern European heavys and will take to him). Fury is still learning and the Klits are getting older.

It is not the anoraks like us who will more than likely tune in anyway, but in order to get (and maintain) the interest of the "man in the street" they need to step up the calibre of opponents.

i thought that tyson fury boxed very well saturday night, only managed to watch the fight yesterday but what he did he did well. fights when he has to and spoils in close when he has done his own work, quite a good ethos to be honest. i liked his jab too, very nice.

I don't mind a gimme as long as he is kept busy & in this case as it is clear that Fury is improving. His boxing & conditioning were better than ever. It seems like in this case the training camp was the point rather than the opponent.

I like the Adamek idea. He seems like he is reaching the end of the road & despite his skill advantage he'll have a lot of problems with the size and the way Fury fights tall. Can't imagine Fury going over to New Jersey and Ch5 going along with it or them putting up the cash to bring Adamek over here.

One of the old recognisable American names could well be next - Rahman, McCline, Grant even Holyfield or Toney might be the best way to go marketing wise. I'd like Chris Arreola but i think he is waiting on a Wlad shot next year. Maybe even Sam Peter if he hasn't already retired so that he can beat a guy who has fought both Klits and other top HWs.
