Ian Tims vs Tony Conquest
I think this could be a cracking fight and its on allegedly alot of people will have conquest as fav after is first rnd ko of leon williams and being more well known. But tims is a tough fighter who in my view was robbed in is last fight with a home town verdict. Also tims was a good amateur who if i can remember right was trying to go to the 2008 olympics. Conquest was a good amateur as well winning the aba's. Both fighters av had injury problems timms more so. I think if conquest sticks to is boxing he should win but like i said before tims is a tough fighter and could cause a lot of problems for conquest who was dropped by john anthony. http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=649273

Wbo international aswell joke its a good fight on its own merit dont need the titles on top of it. Heard some promoter say he wants to get conquest in the wbo rankings.leforge wrote:WBO european says it all. Why is this title needed

Re: Ian Tims vs Tony Conquest
If Timsy wasn't so inactive I fancy him heavily. But as he has had only one fight in over 18 months and it's in Conquests backyard then that evens it up.
You know what they say about fighting a Brit in Britain, "you have to knock him out to get a draw".
Timsy is one seriously tough tough mofo and would go through a wall to get a slap at you. This will be Conquests toughest fight yet, it won't be Tims'.
Also watch out for Anthony Cacace on the undercard.

It is silly, very unnecessary, however these titles give you a good ranking with the WBO and a good leapfrog. Rightly or wrongly, it'll put fighters in a competitive position.leforge wrote:WBO european says it all. Why is this title needed

Don't think he threw a single jab. Bunce etc thinking he's the second coming of Benn.iamasadlittleboy wrote:Watching the undercard...Daryll Williams is just awful, really, really awful

Good seeing someone like Bailey enjoying some success. He's fought some good undefeated fighters the last few years and had it tough.
Re: Ian Tims vs Tony Conquest
I don't think Williams was interviewed afterwards, everyone else was, I wonder why that was ? Did they forget ? When they announced Tims, the camera was put on Conquest, it was poor show, with a one sided low quality main event.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Don't think he threw a single jab. I noticed that. They put up the wrong records for Louis Byrne i think it was. That ring announcer can't do anything without reading it directly from a card and he still makes mistakes. Saw him at the Kelvin Hall and he messed up a few times.safeerah wrote:I don't think Williams was interviewed afterwards, everyone else was, I wonder why that was ? Did they forget ? Good win for Conquest, who seems to be progressing well.
Generally though, this was a poor card. I'm glad I recorded it, so I could fast forward most of the "contests". Also, maybe I'm just getting old and biased towards the past, but where are all the punchers these days?

Re: Ian Tims vs Tony Conquest
Conquest is a great bloke and a decent fighter I nearly boxed him as an amateur and am looking forward to seeing him progress as a pro. Am looking forward to seeing how far he can go IMHO if he gets the right opportunities at the right time the sky is the limit
