I just wish these money grabbing sanctioning bodies can eventually be outlawed sometime in the future for the good of the sport. The sicko in me wanted Rahman to get a good pasting while laying on those ropes if only to make a bigger mockery of the fact he was made the mandatory challenger. An average Heavy with a decent punch who beat a Lewis who was on holiday in South Africa and forgot he had a title to defend there, got lucky hit the jackpot and who done nothing of note before or since.

Povetkin and the WBA are an embarrassment. Povetkin needs to be KOd by Pulev or a Klit and go away. The WBA need to be lined up against a wall and shot.
Povetkin can only beat what's in front of him. It's not his fault Rahman was his mandatory.

Mandatory for what? I wish people would stop recognising Povetkin as the WBA champ. He's not, he's no more the WBA champ than Haye currently is with his intercontinental whatsit titles he won against Chisora.

(not digging you Keith, just the generic consenus that Povetkin is a 'Champ').

I agree 100% that it's a joke that Wlad is not the WBA champ, but Povetkin has the belt and if he wanted to keep it, he had to fight Rahman.

Povetkin had Wladimir Klitschko infront of him more than once and declined to fight him - instead he prefers fighting men like the Klit-sullied Chagaev, with all his serious health issues, and 40 year old men like Boswell and Rahman, and a guy making his heavyweight debut in Huck.

Povetkin is laughable. An absolutely laughable attempt at a world level professional boxer. And to think the WBA recognise him as a 'world champ' - well, they recognised Rahman as a mandatory so that brings Povetkin's credibility into even sharper focus.

Agree 100%, povetkin doesn't fancy wlad at all, wait till wlad moves on then go for belt. Povetkin wlad couldve been made ten times over, and in my opinion 9/10 time jab jab half arsed right would beat alexander. Agree with lillis, let's have the up n comers fight each other n not the old recycled us heavies like rahman, mclein, barret thompson etc...
