I'v always thought boxing was a bit gay anyway. I mean which other sports are there where 2 men fight over a massive purse?

I was listening to this story about something that happened to Jim Jeffries and Steve Hughes when they lived together in Manchester earlier, it's hilarious.

And cricket as well. As here in the UK the Surrey and England wicketkeeper Stephen Davies came out within the last couple of years as well. So perhaps we are starting to see (abet) slowly see a change in attitudes towards openly gay sportsmen.Old bones Ian wrote:Joking aside , its 2 of the sports thought the hardest Boxing and Rugby that we have guys coming out.
Also is it possible to write anything on this thread that doesn't sound wrong?

Ive seen that old man. Hes a nice guy but fights like a ponce! Really respect him thoG0mez wrote:Apparently there is an openly gay guy on the white collar circuit called the Pink Pounder.
Allegedly he struggles to get bouts as people are scared of the stigma should they lose to him.
for learning boxing at such an advanced age and doing well.
Re: Featherweight Orlando Cruz announces he is gay
He put on a good performance last night using straight punch flurries and the counter jab to outbox Pazos with his superior speed and timing. He just lacked a little energy in the championship rounds and Pazos was still very busy, particularly in the final 30 seconds of the late rounds...

Re: Featherweight Orlando Cruz announces he is gay
i'm a big boxing fan and gay and have had a great laugh reading these brilliant posts. did the commentator last night ever say "..and cruz comes out for the next round.." ??
especially enjoyed the crack about cruz needing the vaseline for an injury.
however i am behind cruz all the way to a world title...jeez its tuff to say something with no gay connotations

If he's any good, he could be a big star with the kind of publicity he'll generate. Tons of crossover appeal.

i thought this when i read the OPG0mez wrote:Apparently there is an openly gay guy on the white collar circuit called the Pink Pounder.

cruz will struggle to line up his next opponent as no one will want to be the first one beat up off an openly gay fighter.
doesn't matter how wrong that is, most will see it that way and fear the ridicule
