Shane Cameron fighting in December??
Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
This fight could end up like the Krzysztof Wlodarczyk fight. I just dont know if Danny can go 12 rounds with Cameron.

Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
I am stunned and disappointed. Why is the fight on a Wednesday.
Greeny has huge supporter base in Perth, I am sure no one will argue with that. To fly over for a Wednesday fight would mean taking three days off work (at least two), which is ludicrous. Fri or Saturday would have been much better for everyone involved, inlcuding those Cameron supporters who want to fly up from kiwi land. A Friday or Saturday would have no AFL/NRL to contend with, so why not on those days.
Factor in daylight saving (not sure if it will be in by then) but the main fight will prob start about 6pm Perth time...just as people are getting home from or still on their way home from work.
Myself and many other Perth supporters were planning on heading over, and I am sure many more will, by unfortunately I wont be making this trip. Why keep fighting on a Wednesday when there is little reason.

Wednesday night ppvs in this country always had me puzzled. They've ppvd a lot Cameron and tuas fights live from nz in the past so why not put it on a Saturday here

Usually it's because they don't want to compete with the footy codes. Also main event ratings are best on a Wednesday night.adamheight wrote:Wednesday night ppvs in this country always had me puzzled. Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
..as well as not being in competition with the overseas fights. Main Event Australian fights are always on Wednesday.
Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
Which surprises me....there is no footy on, and a fight on Fri or Saturday night wouldnt be competing with overseas bouts which are usually televised Sunday mornings. Green Machine should have done their homework and realised this. Starnge decision. Mainevents ratings will be high on Wednesday nights because that's when Choc and Greeny have had most of their bouts....I know it wont change anything, but I just had to vent !!! Who knows, as the day approaches I may change my mind and make the trek. Wouldnt be the first time.
Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
I originally thought that the date was to cash in the last bit of the Victorian racing carnival, but that has finished well and truly by the bouts's 21st November.
Well it will have to be PPV as this still a cheaper option than Jetstar's el-cheapo flights.

Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
Didn't Cameron win the empire cruiserweight title? Why isn't that title up for grabs instead of the meaningless IBO title. It's more legitimate
Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
Commonwealth titles do not mean much these days. Lee McAllister is the Commonwealth Light welterweight Champion, he is ranked 13 in the UK, 26 in the Commonwealth and 126 in the World.
Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
Don't see how the title can't be up for grabs too unless Cameron doesn't have it any more, but he hasn't lost to anyone since he beat Vea. A title is only as important as the guy who holds it.
My money's on Shane.

Hobson did not put the Commonwealth Cruiserweight title that he held on the line when he fought fellow Brit Maccarinelli for the WBU title and the IBO is a bit further up the tree than the WBU.
