My friend had vision for about 2 months and it was woeful, like a web stream. Infact I think it was. The menu, the box, everything was total pants. Content was sh*te too.

virgins picture quality was really poor when i had it years ago, i then went to sky and have just returned to virgin and the picture quality is great now. I have the M+ tv package plus allegedly,30mb broadband and phoneline and i pay £36.50 a month for that its a bargain, goes up by £12.50 after 6 months but ive been happy with the service. Is there a USP for BT vision that separates it from sky and virgin?

I don't know if it still is but Sky Sports was significantly cheaper on BT than on Virgin and Sky a year or so ago.

that would be a bonus its the only set of channels i feel like im missing since i ditched sky. Especially with brook fighting tonight.

Green will know the terms of the contract with Golden Boy, Sauerland Events, Frank Maloney and allegedly. He'll also know what allegedly pays to secure one off fights from the likes of K1 Promotions, Top Rank and Gary Shaw. BT have the rights for Premiership football and Premiership rugby however they will need to fill their channel with other sports too. If BT Sports want to have something to show live on a Saturday night boxing could be their answer. Green has all the inside knowledge to outbid, undermine and potentially sink allegedly.

I'd say allegedly should try secure as many long term promotion deals as possible now, before they have to potentially compete with BT.

You're probably right, I'm judging the fella by his relatively scant knowledge of boxing, which is stupid of me; He's a TV man. The deals you mention aren't secrets secret though, Green's replacement will have access to any information regarding agreements with other companies. Perhaps I'm wrong but I'd rate the defection as an inconvenience more than anything else.

Green is well regarded in the TV industry and his presence at the start will have helped to launch BN, and I'm sure he could do the same for a BT boxing programme, which could have big money behind it compared to BN at launch stage - if BT wanted to invest in boxing. But BN is up and running now, they can just replace him surely? Probably a terrible analogy, but it's not like when the WWF lost its scriptwriters to Bischoff and co.

Another would-be sports subscription channel. Grab a few premier league games, a bit of rugby and a couple of boxing and mma fights and call it a tenner a month. Its not really worked in the past and its unlikely to work in the future. Setanta gave it about as decent a shout as anyone could and look where that ended up. Espn will probably be on the way out after the next bit of football goes from the channel. The only effect of all these various start-up channels seems to be to push the price that Sky pays for football up and thus enrich even further those spoilt brats in shorts and snoods.

Interesting times. BT have won some Premier League rights, so they'll be wanting to add to their Sport portfolio. Boxing would certainly fit the bill. It comes down to cost at the end of the day, but an arrangement with Warren similar to the Sky one with Matchroom could be intruiging.

Not another sport channel to pay for, what with sky sports, Premier sports, ESPN, allegedly and primetime as well. I don't even watch that much football anymore, because different channels keep buying the rights, now they are doing it with boxing, don't get me wrong, the more Tv coverage of boxing the better, but we pay for sky so why should we have to keep forking out more ?.

Lets not get carried away with it yet, nobody knows what is happening. Personally, I cannot see an outlet leaving Sky to move to a new TV system. I don't think it has been done before, usually TV channels that have been exclusive to Sky will strike a deal with Virgin / BT etc to go to them but also stay on Sky.

Yes, I can see with the new BT sports channel there possibly being more boxing, but I cannot see allegedly being not available to Sky customers... just my personal view. If they does become exclusive to BT then thats one subscriber less anyway.
