Johnson looked a bit tired against Fonfara and after a competitive couple of rounds he took a fairly sustained beating for the rest of the fight.

Johnson is still very durable and apart from the Smith fight Groves has rarely showed one punch stoppage power, have a feeling poor old Johnson will take another full distance pasting.

Really sad to be proved right, wasn't good.

Groves was as good as you can expect him to be, work man like performance - no one knocks out ol Johnson, but he did the right thing by testing that chin. A good win though, it's going to be fun following George Groves next year.

Let's give George some credit, he fought reasonably well.

We all know Johnson's legendary 70-90 punches a round was not going to happen tonight (I dont think he threw more than 30-40 a round).

I thought Groves might have over-exerted himself a little and as a result he lost his shape a lot, that bigger younger punchers would have exploited..

..but otherwise he did well after a long spell out of action.

Excellent performance by Groves. Glad he never got caught flush with too many (even though Johnson never threw that many).

For me, Groves was able to hurt Johnson more than Froch did. Although that may be due to the fact that Johnson has aged ring-wise quite a bit since then.

Well done to Groves , he kept his focus and kept firing at aJohnson who only seemed focused on keeping his granite chinned rep alive rather than actually winning.

Wasnt impressed by Groves. He may as well hit the heavy bag for 12 rounds. He looked open and tired IMO.

I wouldn't put Groves in with Abraham though - AA still looks too crafty and hard hitting, pretty sure he'd flatten George - assuming he wins tonight, and it looks like he will.

Not sure what the other options are at 160, but Booth should avoid AA for a bit I reckon.
