Smedley back in feb

Last chance for him to reach his potential he wants to fight late feb,now his head is clear and his weight now in control as he as trained all through xmas

He started well before you did Curtis and you have achieved a lot more. Shame because Smedley had a lot of talent, but he has been too inactive and just didn't progress. I think it's been over a year since he lost to Nigel Wright.

a big waste of talent, got all the moves but lacks the heart and drive to train and dedicate his life to the game, thats why somebody like me with loads less talent would beat him, ive seen it a million times in football and boxing, the ones with the most talent dont always go the furthest, and before i get his fan boys on here slating me this is just my honest oponion on the matter, ive met the lad a couple of times and he seems a good lad but the facts speak for themselves :TU:

A friend of his told me he'd allegedly bulked up to 14 stone body-building.

He will be 10.7 in feb then down to 10 he never went bodybuilding,just liked his food and went to 13 stone but sinse h then he as ettled down and had a kid its made him grow up,he sells loads if tickets and a fight with curtis would sell a venue and it would be a nice win for curtis wouldnt it

I have zero interest in that fight, 2 years ago it made sense, now it means nothing, I wish him well in his future but that won't involve me

A nice and easy defence against a sheffielder with a good record and an owls fan sounds good and as he as been so inactive should b a walk in the park for u

Sorry not his dad but a close pal.

His dad aint that bothered over pro boxing,he is focused on building the manor gym with steve barnes and getting making another amateur club,the gym on the manor is lookin good sinse getting robbed,stevr and smedley senior will make a great team and will produce some top kids

Yep, talent alone is nowhere near good enough to make it in competative sport. I don't think that Smedley ever got used to the pro game after moving from the amateurs. As you say, you have to dedicate yourself to the sport completely.

I agree he is 26 and time flies by,he is out of contract soon,i have been training with him for the last 4 weeks and he is really happy at the manor gym as thats where e started

Wdoubt it,steve barnes will be training him and he works us hard.steve and chris are a great team and they will make manor gym into a top gym,just a bit cold in there at the minute as thieves took all the copper piping,

steve barnes??? is that super bads dad??? what the hell happened to him? got the big build up then lost and not been seen since, is he still boxing? sorry to change subject but always wondered where he went
