Tyson/Holyfield 1991

Post by bnovelist »

Yeah I know most of you will agree that Holyfield will have always had Tyson's number but pre-prison Tyson I don't believe so. Mentally

Holyfield was more stable than Mike but at that time Tyson STILL PHYSICALLY was too much for Evander. Tyson still had that timing, snap

in his punches, and had his killer instinct and at some point during this fight had it taken place he would have had Evander hurt BADLY. To this

very day I still think Mike Tyson still had the physical advantage over Holyfield 86-91' version of Tyson. Let's be real about this...Holyfield

fought a Mike Tyson that was inactive for FOUR YEARS...One year layoff in boxing isn't good but FOUR YEARS? Come on now! Till this DAY

I do not believe that Holyfield fought the REAL Tyson that was active and fighting regularly. I wanted to see him in there with that 86-91'

version of Tyson so so so bad.....Damn.......Tell me of ANY sport where an athlete could take a 4 year layoff and then come back to

dominate like they did prior to the layoff. That's like Joe Calzaghe stepping out of retirement in 2015 to challenge Carl Froch who has been

active all the time  That's like Oscar coming out of retirement to challenge Alvarez, Mayweather, or Martinez.

Uh, Calzaghe last fought in 2008, nitwit. Learn basic math. HINT: 2008-2015 isn't a four-year layoff.
Too bad Tyson decided to rape a woman.

Tyson never raped her but lets stick to boxing Yes I also believe 86-91 Tyson Beats 91 Holyfield at the time Holyfield was weighting in for his fights at 205-208 a time before he got into the PED's and steroids hardcore.......Tyson would be to strong for him........Tyson by 3rd KO Holyfield would be dropped before that but his heart would get him up Mike finishes him in the 3th

Holyfield beats Mike Tyson in 1991. I don't think he would've beaten him in the 80's because of Tyson's edge in pro experience at the time, but by 1991, Holyfield was ready for Tyson...any version of him.

I think that the great Evander Holyfield in '91 would have beaten the great Mike Tyson. After the Buster Douglas fight, Tyson was exposed. I think Holyfield would have won, but in a more dramatic fashion. I could see Tyson having Evander hurt by the 5th, but Evander would not go down. And Holy was more mentally adaptable than Iron Mike. Had more will and determination and much more heart.
