I agree the prime Ali was the closest thing to unbeatable we'll see at heavyweight. Even the older Ali could use his guile to beat more or less anyone imo. The sad thing (which I've said in the past but will say again!) is that we never really saw Ali as good as he couldve been because of his exile. That must be one of the biggest sporting tragedies ever.

Ali's career is impressive to say the least, but...

I can't even fathom Ali beating Lennox Lewis.

I don't think Ali could beat a prime Floyd Patterson.

Jersey Joe Walcott, Ezzard Charles, and Jack Johnson would give Ali all he could handle, and possibly then some.

A young Holyfield beats a young Ali.

I can't imagine any of these fighters having a serious chance against a prime Holmes, or Louis.

Don't be so silly!... Ali would play with Lewis and the Patterson he fought was better than he was when he was world champion.

Brockton, I posted on almost enough threads to drop this one to the next page, and you ressurect it.
If you guys want to talk about a young ALI, start an ALI thread. I'm tired of seeing ANY thread with Larry Holmes on it.

In the words of 'Napolean Dynamite': "what a frickin' idiot, God!".

I never said he wasn't. I just don't agree with how high he ranks with some of you guys. Live with that.

I have nothing against Ali.

I feel he is over rated though, and Larry and Joe were without a doubt better than him.

Not sure how giving an opinion, especially one that many agree with, is silly, or dumb... Just because you don't agree.

True, you're entitled to your opinion but I doubt many people would agree with you that Lewis and Holifield could have beat Ali.
