foreman KO 4
- Klitschko, Tyson, Rahman, Tua, Grant, Briggs, Golota, McCall, Mercer, Morrison, Bruno, Ruddock, Weaver and Mason. All these guys hit hard and Lewis stood up to them without a problem.

.

:box:
No problem-he was Ko'd by Rahman and McCall, and got wobbled vs Klitschko, Briggs, Bruno and Mercer. None of those guys could be described as being in the class of Foreman, and all of them except Mercer were very poor finishers, and Mercer vs Lewis simply lost b/c he got gassed and was overweight (and 35 years old)
Yes he may have been hurt but he still beat them, and stopped Rahman and McCall in the rematches !! Any fighter, I don't care who they are, when hit by a 16-18 stone big puncher will be hurt....these guys are human after all. It doesn't matter how much better a fighter someone may be, if someone can punch hard they can be the worst fighter in the world but that doesn't mean their punches hurt any less.

Foreman would be too slow. He telegraphed his punches and a fast cagey Lewis would be too clever for him. Like I said there is always a punchers chance, all fighters have that, but you have too land the punch first. Foremans stamina was never great, lets face it it didn't have to be in most fights cos he KO'd everyone. Lewis also had the power to hurt anyone, his right hand was devastating when he landed it clean.

I still think Lewis would outpoint Foreman.

Bradley this scenario is already out there, but a good one to come back to nonetheless. I see Foreman winning but Foreman himself says Lennox takes this. Who am I to argue. But I would anyway.....Foreman KO's Lewis in a Foreman Lyle style shootout.

Foreman compared to an Ali or Young had stamina issues but make no mistake he had better stamina then Lewis. Did Lewis ever keep up the work-rate Foreman set for himself vs Peralta for 10 rounds? Or keep laying on punch after punch vs Lyle in a real brawl?

Foreman was just as fast as Lewis. Lewis's speed advantage would be minimal at best. Watch Foreman vs Norton, Chuvalo, and Frazier 11. The man coullf fire FAST hard punches when he was in with someone he had respect for. He'd respect Lewis and thus up his game and simply bash him to a heap on the canvas.

walshb wrote:Ezzard, to me that was the greatest fight ever. Everything about it, the whole buzz, the venue, the build up and the action was non stop. You say George never landed cleanly. Maybe not to the head, but by god he did some damage to Ali's body. Muhammad was pissin' blood for two weeks. That was unreal. He did land to the head, but not as effective as he did against Norton or Frazier. All credit to Ali. Lewis would never take that sort of punishment, nor would any heavy thru history in my opinion anyway. The most important thing also is that Ali couldn't escape that punishment. I always wonder with the people who say Ali allowed George to punch himself out, the whole Rope a dope thing. If you study the tape, you realise that Ali had no bloody option but to go to the ropes. Foreman stalked him very well and Foreman is not that easy to avoid. He is always in you face. If Muhammad could have danced around all night to a dull points win, I'm in no doubt he would have done that. No man alive could claim that Ali deliberately allowed George to pound away on him. That's just the way the fight turned out....

Agree about the build up and the venue etc... It was also an amazing feat for Ali to beat George. I have said this before but Ali is a master of acting unhurt by big shots and mayeb he's fooled me too. George did score well to the body but I still think he is taking the most punishment of the two.
