Reckon Billy Bessey should book him for an exhibition when he's over with the winner being the official Big Daddy B!

Not good to see Riddick struggling ( if he is) - could have been an all time great, had all the tools.
Re: Riddick Bowe UK tour
He should get a decent amount for the dinners and a free 2 week holiday in englandRatchet Exits Nu wrote:Not good to see Riddick struggling ( if he is) - could have been an all time great, had all the tools.

He had all the discipline early in his career, look how many times he fought leading up to the title. The Dark Destroyer wrote:He didn't have all the tools, he didn't have the self-discipline to keep himself in shape. Great fighter at his best, though.Ratchet Exits Nu wrote:Not good to see Riddick struggling ( if he is) - could have been an all time great, had all the tools.
Once the $ came in the discipline went.

Re: Riddick Bowe UK tour
He is not a legend, unlike those guys and will come a hell of a lot cheaper, not sure if it will be reflected in the ticket price, though. Regardless, i bet you get to wave your fist about in front of his face, mate! I bet you have got a good album.Adamj1987 wrote:not on sale yet, hagler was £80, tyson, RJJ and SRL was 100 so im guessing around that muchMachoMan09 wrote:He should, doesn't mean he will. Re: Riddick Bowe UK tour
Your right, its got to be the fist. It's compulsory, even my Nephew, after his first fight, was holding his fist up to me in a photo! I have loads with him at all stages of his life and he never used "The Fist" until he boxed... Its like a boxer must talk about himself in the third person once he becomes successful, these are almost rules.Adamj1987 wrote:its growing what else do you do other than the fist, when i met tyson the pic is of us shaking hands.

I think it's an incredible photo. Not to mock him but it's just really poignant, just leaves you thinking "wow that's Riddick Bowe".

God that's such a sad photo, Riddick always came over as a good guy, beneath all the trash talk.
He came from the same neighbourhood as Tyson, but was never out mugging people.
Where's Rock Newman when he needs him ?

Re: Riddick Bowe UK tour
I think for all the horror stories we here about promoters/managers taking advantage of boxers, Rock Newman really looked after Bowe. He became a close friend of his and said repeatedly how Bowe would be the last boxer he would ever manage and he stuck to that. I remember when Bowe retired in 1997 Newman was saying how he had trying to convince him to retire years before and that he was "financially set for life" Riddick himself saying he had $50 million in the bank. It was Bowe's spiral out of control in retirement though his legal and personal troubles that ran through the money he earned from the ring.MightyWarrior wrote:God that's such a sad photo, Riddick always came over as a good guy, beneath all the trash talk.

Their relationship turned sour when Bowe accused Newman of mishandling his fight earnings and launched a well publicised multi-million dollar lawsuit against him back in 2004. However Newman produced details of their entire career together which was so thorough that it forced Bowe and his advisors to withdraw the claim:
Bowe: "I was lied to and misled by a former advisor into thinking that you had stolen money from me. You have now provided every detail about how my finances were handled. I understand now that I was wrong to claim you took money from me and that it was unfair of me to bring the action against you."
I think Newman washed his hands of Bowe after that, as Riddick blames just about everybody else for the way his life has gone since he was the world champ.

Never mind Riddick, Prince Edward looks a shadow of his former self on the extreme right of that pic. Dancing for a burger n chips in full knight of the realm regalia? Must be a bitter pill for HRH to swallow...Final round wrote:I wonder how much he was signing gloves for..I would have bought one, frickin legend.G0mez wrote:Last i read of him, he was doing car boot sales.

Re: Riddick Bowe UK tour
Its true Riddick is doing a UK tour and he has lots to say too in his own words and not scripted either, he reached the very top and he was also ripped off, any talk of fighting or MMA is not what this tour is about yes there are some exhibitions but mostly its dinner shows :)
Re: Riddick Bowe UK tour
Thought he was at the NEC Last May time was it ?
Before my time, but seen some of his fights,
What kind of thing happens at an event such as this?
